I can see the benefit of no teeth, but she'd have to have a bath and ideally not have her face fall off.

Ellewoods. How would you describe the transition from the in terms of Media Entertainment depicting California from the golden years of yesteryear. The cool 70' s Summer breeze of golden sands and the advent of the Utopia of Cultural Surf music & boheme laidback peaceful revolutionaries of status & moral demerity lifestyles to that which the Global image of California is today in the American. Multi Mega Media Machine Betty of the Golden Girls. lost souls sleeping in panelvans in the beach carparks. bounty hunters. corrupt brutalistic cops an overengineered. ( durty imaged) porn Industry. dead studios. etc.etc. Well ya see where I am going with the train of thought. See i imagine if a place is like california exists as it had. then it really is that way all the time. no matter how much time has passed Right! How do you see it Ellewoods?
This might count as political but I will try to answer it without politics. Thats probably a hard question for me to answer as my age means that I have no first hand knowledge of the previous situation. I would lean one way although I would not write my opinion into stone as my education focused on other issues. I would say that the Mayberry version of yesteryear never actually existed and it was a played up era filled with the same levels or at least significant levels of violence and poverty that exist now. They played it up to sell something to the population as they try to do now and did before the 50's and early 60's. It seems that by the mid 60's with TV it became harder for the picture to be feed to people without questioning it. There is no doubt that our prison system and police system was just as bad in the 50's and 60's as it is now. In fact it was probably worse when you think of the police working with the KKK in the south and slave labor with things like chain gangs. The situations and catalysts might be different but the "streets paved with gold" and "free land" that persuaded most of our ancestors in the 1800's (the Irish, Scottish, Germans, Italians) to move here really also never really existed. My people took the boats over and then went for the free land and helped murder the native Americans. They painted a lie to sell something then and I would say that the lies are just harder to cover up now. There was certainly no universe where Elvis carefree on the beach was the actual state of things.

Cheers Elleewoods That encapsulates a definitive incontrovertible overview. I appreciate you being Frank.
I did 6 canisters in one go from a condom of that, it made me pass out, my mate filmed it. Was funny.
Getting back to the original post. If we get relegated we head into the Championship , we have encountered much much worse then relegation from the Premiership
You certainly have a longer perspective than most and could enjoy the last few years in that light. Most of us would have liked our club to be successful decades ago to get the collective monkey off our back, to alter perceptions of this city both for us locals and further afield. We are no longer eternal losers, also rans and failures. In this context, we have been lucky enough to savour it and enjoy every second, not just read about it happening many decades ago. Football had changed more in the last ten years than any other period and is still doing so. Who knowd where we will be in 10 years or even if we will still exist? You are right to focus on enjoying the present. Others are working to ensure we still have a Hull City and trying to shape it against the constant threats from the Council, the Police, the Premier League and UEFA in trying to mould our club to suit THEIR vested interests.
We've had a bit of drift on the OP. But if i remember the point was because at present we are being succsessful on the pitch Charles was not going to critisise the off field pantomime. The question, what happens if we get relegated ? Does that mean that Charles will begin to question the off field management cock ups because we are not being succsesful on the pitch. The origional post just came accross as a little strange to me, and Charles never came back to clear up his point of veiw.
I think that the OP is actually very close to what the actual majority think. Assem Allam will be let off the hook by many if we have a good season.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't swap last seasons cup run or the opportunity at this seasons europa league for anything, but moving from the championship to the premiership is when football stops being just football. From a league point of view, it's far more fun down there in my opinion. Maybe if we establish and start pushing up the league that will change, but the circus surrounding the premier league off the pitch will still remain.
This is one of the most unsavoury aspects of this saga. The fostering of a breed of 'customer' (let's be honest they are NOT supporters) who want, demand and will only come to watch top class football. Transient people with no loyalty, no sense of a wider meaning of being a Hull City supporter (through thick and thin) and whose absence when we were **** is unexplained. It is right to try and shake some money out of these people, but not to alter the club's identity to suit their pathetic shallow whims.
