Flyer - the Official Version

Nothing to be regret about roller. You did your job as a mod just fine. Sometimes things just get bit heated up when opinions collided. Hope Flyer comes back soon because his realistic (some might think ultrarealistic or even negative ) views were always very well justified by him.

 

Everything has become pretty good on here this week, not having a dig at Flyer or Swords, but without the two of them all of a sudden we're discussing our team and getting excited about it without Marvin making everyone want to kill themselves, or him in Swords case. Swords is swords, but Flyer must realise that when you stand alone in nearly every single one of his views, then he must look at himself as the problem.

Flyer didn't stand alone at all, I agreed with much of what he posted. I'd like to see both Flyer and Swords return.

 

Thanks very much Roller for enlightening us all regarding the circumstances behind this rather unfortunate state of affairs. I for one missed reading the Swords instigating "kill" reference post and your actions to try and nip the situation in the bud were entirely correct and commendable. Flyer for his own reasons was obviously not prepared to accept the olive branch that you mediated with Swords. Not sure if Swords had also PM'd an apology to Flyer, or even if he had, if that might have made a difference in resolving matters.

Along with the majority of other posters here I greatly, and gratefully appreciate the efforts of yourself and Nines working tirelessly as moderators of our board to try and keep us all on the straight and narrow.

 

I'm not one of your regular posters on here but even I recognise what a great job Roller and Nines do for this forum. Personally , I enjoy Flyers posts and understand that he maybe a kind of 'glass half empty' sort of guy which is similar to me I suppose . It just adds spice to the debates IMO . So, if your reading this Flyer, get yourself back on here mate , you'll be missed if you don't .

 

Thank you Roller for the full explanation, I think now it is transparent people can see what actually happened...I think you handled the situation exactly the right way.
What you couldn't anticipate was Flyers reaction.

I am in one way communication with Flyer....I have told him on two occasions to look at the board to see how he is missed. I have informed him of swords ban...
I hope I am wrong but I do not think he will come back but that ultimately is his decision.

As said above...Roller (and999s) has an awful job to do, and he does it with gentle and firm hand. I personally think Roller did everything right in this,the decision to ban is the mods decision taken after all other route s have been explored....Roller was exploring the other routes, when Flyer decided to jump ship...that is Flyers prerogative too.

We have the best mods on the board. Thank you Roller

Comments like this are the reason Flyer probably won't be coming back and are bang out of order. Just because Flyer had a slightly negative slant on many things doesn't make him any less of a fan. I for one agreed with him on many issues. Not all of course

Also whilst Nines & Roller do an excellent job that i wouldnt want to do, I think this thread is well off kilter. The background to Flyers departure is his own business and shouldnt be up for public scrutiny / discussion. Especially as he isn't here to add his views.

I think many people here gave Flyer way too much stick and all this moralising is a smokescreen. Look at how you treated him yourselves and maybe then you'll see the problem here was your own attitude rather than Flyers

I think you got it right Roller but I also understand how Flyer might feel after some of the abuse dished out to him for expressing his opinions.

I remember him telling me somebody told him to go "jump off a bridge". Flyer really took that to heart due to a friend of his committing suicide. I don't remember who the poster concerned was but that incident upset Flyer too.

Roller and 999's are doing a fine job keeping things in order here. I am sure they are glad the season starts again in a week's time.

Flyer, if you read this, you know the old saying, "don't let the bastards get you down". You have more to offer than a lot of people so please reconsider.

 

Bearing in mind that I have had my run ins on here from time to time AND the fact that this forum is amongst the busiest (if not THE busiest) on Not606, I think our mods are the best that we could have. Well done guys and keep up the good work.

I think our mods should be given 'Lifetime Achievement Award' for their efforts and then given a lifetime contract with no 'get out' clauses.
Whatever they are being paid is to be doubled.

On a more serious note, could someone here on the forum, hopefully with club ties, see if our mods can be acknowledged in the form of game tickets, for their continued efforts.
I'm hoping that the club can appreciate the time these gents put in on behalf of the fans of Queens Park Rangers.

It would certainly be a decent and warranted gesture.

I agree with the vast majority of that Wubba and didn't want to post anything regarding this unfortunate situation as I made clear in my opening paragraph. However the speculation on the Flyer....? thread was starting to mount and I could see it leading to a witch hunt.

It was the lesser of two evils in my opinion.

 

Come off it Wubba, he's not a martyr, he's just another bloke who has decided that he's had enough of posting. I respect him for leaving without making a big song and dance about it in public. He also dished it out as well - if you challenged him consistently you were a 'troll', if you are Swords you are a 'Scum fan' (water off a duck's back I think), if you disagreed with him on the team/Redknapp (for much of what he said on football, once the bitterness and anger was removed, I didn't disagree) you were 'happy clappy'. He should be flattered that people feel his virtual footprint on here was big enough, and his voice distinctive enough, to merit this extended inquest.

Roller has been put in a difficult position by a large number of posters asking for details (Beth had already provided the gist ages ago), and personally I think this should draw a line under it, let's move on.

I agreed with most of what he said. I think many did and doubt he stood alone on many of his views.

 

I have kept my head out of all this so far. Missed the game thread and didn't see the joke threat. When things got/get fractious, unless it's something I feel very strongly about, I tend to let people get on with things. I would like to say that I fully support the mods on here as it is a thankless task trying to keep everyone on an even keel. As for both Sword and Flyer, I have found them both to be frustrating at times but as adults, we should be able to just ignore them and remain civil.

 

the mods do a good job. too often good threads just descend into personal squabbling and moronic, insulting and offensive comments by people who I assume are grown men. You have to have debate and banter, but this is a football forum, not some old boys club. Its putting sensible members off contributing, if I came new today to this site -albeit its off season so slightly less actual football to discuss - I would probably not want to join
