According to sky sport adam Campbell has been sent on loan to Fleetwood town for a month.

Imo what use is a month maybe half a season and I would prefer he went to a half decent championship team✌

It may be a rolling month on month deal.

Fleetwood may have given an assurance that he'll be played, which a decent Championship side would not likely have done

The lad needs to play and if he can get that at Fleetwood, even on a monthly basis, it's a start.

He hardly put himself in the shop window at Carlisle and St.Mirren last season, so he has a lot of hard work to do and impress clubs at a higher level in the Championship, that's its worth taking a punt on him.

Exactly what James Tavenier did and despite looking solid for all teams played for we still shipped him out. Vuckic on other hand was ****e everywhere he went and he gets a shirt number - go figure!

Campbell is a long long way from the first team, so he has to go somewhere for a game.

Tavernier, coming up to 23yo in last year of contract, no chance of first team here - best deal for him to move on otherwise he'd be wasting his career sitting on the bench for god knows how long. At his age he would also have taken up a squad place.

As for Vuckic - we've tried to sell, but no takers up to now, will probably go out on loan again if anyone will have him.

I bet Vuckic would be out the door if someone offered Mike Ashley a steak bake and caramel custard doughnut in exchange. As for Campbell, he needs a good run of games where he can build up a prolific streak in front of goal, as it didn't quite happen for him at St Mirren. There is still time like.

Great move in my opinion. I don't worry about all this "Why not the championship?" stuff. Look at the likes of Defoe at Bournemouth etc. Its just about learning and playing. He is 19 and needs game time in adult football. He struggled for St Mirren but I haven't given up on him. He may still be able to do a job for us in the future. Football changes quickly, sometimes a bit of patience is required. Look at Kieran Trippier at Burnley. Let go by Man City but went away and has worked his way back. Its why I was slightly disappointed to lose Tavenier but he wanted to go so you can't stop him.

Armstrong also needs to get out on loan. If another striker does come in, Perez will too.

Totally agree.. they more they are playing they better.. Ideally at a high a level as possible...but that said, if the choice is high level w/no guarentee of playing versus lower level ..lots of playing time...the latter every time when this young and raw.

Exactly. Its the same at any level. I remember when I went from playing school football to playing Northern Alliance on a Saturday and Sunday League. It was a bit of a culture shock at first, but it was amazing how much I changed in 2 years. All the players I came through with at the same time were exactly the same, just to different extents. You change position in some cases. Campbell will probably go from being a number 9 like he has been in junior football, to a Beardsley type drop deep. He could even do a Scholes and become a goalscoring central midfielder. You just never know until you play a lot of games.

Gaining first team experience and keeping match fit is what's needed for him right now, whether his future lies at Newcastle or elsewhere he needs to be playing. If he impresses in the first month, another club could pick up interest in him.

Wasn't it the St.Mirren manager who said Campbell needed to look at his commitment to the game and as a result hardly played him. Last chance saloon for me, no improvement and he'll be out the door in January.
