If by "picking out switch balls" you mean defending I agree. His distribution is bloody woeful. And when he comes forward he hasn't got a clue what to do with the ball and invariably makes the wrong choice and or cannot execute the intended pass. Obviously I take exception to your comment "utterly clueless comment"

Couldn't disagree more on this, by switch balls I meant playing a long ball across the pitch which he did to Brady countless times in our promotion season. His comfort on the ball and passing the ball into midfield are some of his strongest assets, as compared to Bruce who looks terrified to have the ball and hoofs it away whenever he gets it, even Davies isn't great at it compared to Chezzy.

Chester is probably our most comfortable CB on the ball. You wouldn't want a CB making a marauding run forward but Chester was just rusty but still capable last night

Though we needed to go 442 a bit earlier, but keep Brady on as an attacking force, not as a defending wing back. He plays that wing back role well sometimes, but not at the start of the season normally as previously shown. He needs to be confident on his fitness to go in properly for tackles etc and not sure he is yet.
