The silly season is in full swing amongst the rags. Everyday there is a player that United is now favourite to sign according to at least one paper. Vidal Vermalaen Hummels Di Maria Brind Reus And a few others I've missed... The reality is that LVG will only sign a couple of these players. Which ones do we really need and who will most likely come to United ?
For me it would be a toss up between Hummels and Vidal. If Utd are going to play with wing backs Di Maria and Rues probably are not defensively minded enough to play as wing backs. I am not sure what all the fuss is about with Vermalaen. Decent but not great.
Hummels for sure, one of the best CBs around right now, and that is your weakest position at the moment.
I just can't see di Maria fitting in the system though would be a good addition to the squad and better than what we have at present
couldnt agree more. hes better than the wingers we have at present but dont see him fitting in LVGs system. Cuardrado would b a better option. or both
The Vidal deal seems the most likely, but its like the works kettle, on, off, on,off. As for the rest, the press are in think of a player, and link him to United mode. The speculation is crazy, even linking CR7 for a return.
i agree it is gettin a bit out of hand!! but i think the ronaldo link of a return is more in a few years time as drogba bk to chelsea sort of deal
Not sure it's ever a good idea of a player returning. the only one I can think who was successful was Sparkie. Isn't there serious doubts now of CR7's fitness with a knee problem? Hope not, but it is being bandied about as correct
The CR7 back to United rumour is an annual rumour, much like the Kalou to Arsenal thing which just wouldn't die a death and came back every summer like a genital wart.
Top class CB and DM like Hummels and Vidal, Vidal looks likely this summer but we will have to wait till next summer (should we make top 4) to get the likes of Hummels, Robben, Di Maria etc.
