Five league games coming up in quick succession in August: Brentford (Away) Wigan (Home) Derby (Home) Huddersfield (Away) Brighton (Away) What points haul are you expecting from these five fixtures? How many will have you popping the champagne corks and plotting next season's route to Old Trafford, and how few will have you reaching for the bicycle clips ? My predicted points haul from the 4 games - 5 points. 2 draws, 1 win, 2 defeats.
Inclined to agree with you, but think we could beat both Brentford and 'udders. We also always seem to play a ''promotion favourite'' in the 2nd home game of the season (was it Leicester last year) and we have recently been coming out on top. Brentford - W Wigan - L Derby - D 'Udders - W Brighton - L That gives me a total of 7, but think yours is more likely
1 point Brentford (Away)..... loss 3-0 Wigan (Home)...... draw 1-1 Derby (Home)..... loss 0-2 Huddersfield (Away)...... loss 1-0 Brighton (Away)......... loss 3-1 It is going to be a tough season

Brentford - D (0-0) Wigan - L (0-1) Derby - L (1-4) 'Udders - D (1-1) Brighton - L (2-1) deux pwoint.
Brentford... Draw Wigan Athletic... Win Derby County... Draw Huddersfield Town... Win Brighton and Hove Albion... Draw
I thought I was being positive giving us a draw against Wigan..... I actually think...... no let's stay positive What was it that Eddie Waring used to say while laughing his head off...."look at the Belgians"... look at the Belgians indeed
Brentford (win) Fans (WE'RE GOING TO WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP) Wigan - Lose Derby - Lose Huddesrfield - Draw Brighton - Lose Fans (WE'RE GOING TO GET RELEGATED)
Looking at the fixtures match by match, I think we will lose them all. I wavered when that liar posted we had signed Delort, who looks useful, but turns out we hadn't. Even the worse teams pick up unexpected points (as Yeovil did last season) so I will plump for two draws from somewhere. Don't expect a win until Rotherham in our eighth match.
A good august. Mrs Shabbys mum buggers off somewhere far away. My boss finally closes down, putting me on the dole till a well paid office job appears. Charlton get eleven points. Three home wins, two away draws.
I wish I'd done a prediction now ( and also checked how many home and away games we had). I can't really call it a good august as Mrs Shabby's mum has been over every weekend so far, but football wise it was right up where I wanted it to be. An even better september would be nice now, starting with a couple of quick transfers, but so far, it feels good to be a Charlton fan.
Very pleasing to get 9 points from the opening 5 games. My honest opinion, having seen all 5, is that we are punching above our weight. The strong points of the team have been the defensive partnership between Ben Haim and Bikey, and the goals of Igor. The rest of them have been distinctly patchy.
So you have not read my post #16 above then Dick? Based on performances I guess I was four points out... Your point is what exactly?
