I had the misfortune last night to be sat next to someone who has made his mind up about Robert Snodgrass, he's ex-Leeds I'm going to slag off everything he does, if he does something good I'm not going to acknowledge it, I'll stay quiet when he does something good, if he makes a mistake I'll slag him off and slag him off loudly so hopefully he hears it.

He also decided that if Snodders didn't go flying in for a ball 5 yards away more abuse would be hurled at him, not only is he ex-Leeds, he's not a tough tackling midfielder either, ",Brucie get him off, he's useless ".

I thought he showed some decent touches, interesting that Hudd and Brady let Snodders take most of the corners and free kicks with good reason, for quite a few seasons we've been pants at corners and free kicks.

When any other City players made mistakes he said nothing, thank God I'm not sat next to him for the rest of the season.

I thought he had a poor game myself - but I agree it is very annoying when someone just picks on a player and never gives in.

I had some ****er behind me slagging off everything Brady did, I know he started badly but this bloke wanted him off in the second minute.

Fortunately, Brady's cross for the goal shut him up.

Contrast of opinions again - Snodgrass. I thought he was great, held the ball well, energetic, and he loves a tackle. Decent set piece deliveries and he's a threat running with the ball. Looking forward to seeing him play more.

I hate getting sat near pricks like that snodders was up there for man of the match for me, he was putting hard tackles in n getting in the oppositions faces, getting in behind their back line putting good balls in. I was also impressed with Ince stronger than i thought great control n pace aswell

That's the thing isn't it guys, the people I normally sit with acknowledge that there are 1 or 2 players over the course of a season they are not mad on but will still have the balls to say when they have played well.

Where abouts where you sat? There was someone near me moaning about Brady.

He was shocking at the start, but he grew in to the game.

I am not a boo boy or a moaner but I dont think that many of our players came away from the game thinking they had done themselves justice in their performance. Sagbo was voted mom and I believe he was our best player. Ince & Aluko came on and made an impact with Aluko grabbing a great winner. I thought Snodgrass like many others struggled to get going and have any real impact on the game , nice cushion header from Snodgrass to set up Alukos winner though. We didnt play great but once the players gel and get to grips with tactics/ personnel etc we will start to perform to a standard that we should be capable of.

I though Snodgraa took a bit of time to get into his stride but had some fire in some of his tackles, looks like he may be our hard man.....I though Brady and Sagbo teamed up well......and Was impressed with Ince....nice to see him tracking back to get the ball back....

Interesting how people see the game differently. I thought Snodgrass was poor. Looked uniterested for the most part, seemed to be constantly out of position which I thought was why we seemed to be getting overrun in midfield and he was sloppy in possession when he did get it. Then he got into a little scuffle towards the end and completely changed, he was flying around diving into and winning tackles and then had the presence of mind to find Aluko with the header at the end. The lad sat next to me said "I wish someone had wound Snodgrass up in the first minute". I thought that pretty much summed him up last night!

I thought Snodgrass has been generally poor so far, I'm sure he'll be fine once the season gets into full swing, he looked a lot better towards the end of the game yesterday.

With the whole playing for Leeds stuff I can look past that, what I don't like is his constant moaning at the ref and decisions that go against him that clearly aren't fouls (like the shoulder barge in the south east corner) I think that is what many people who have got something against him don't like and he has some fans to win over like myself.

I thought that was a blatant foul! It's fair enough going shoulder to shoulder but to change the direction you are running, away from the path of the ball, towards a player is nothing but a foul.

    I agree with that.

Also, whilst Brady did have a poor first 10/15 (increasing worries about Brady and Elmo defensively as WBs) - I think a couple of his 'misplaced passes' were actually due to poor positioning from Snodgrass? Brady did seem to have a bit of a shout at Snodgrass a couple of times. I think sometimes players are supposed to be in certain places at certain times, and it can make the passer look a bit of a fool, when actually it is the guy out of position who was at fault.

Anyway though, i'm sure Snodgrass will come good. There were definite flashes there. He could probably just use a bit more time in the team.

What Snodgrass lacked in sharpness last night, he more than made up for in effort and grit, although I do think he grew into the game and was pretty good the last 20 mins. As someone else suggested on the MOM thread, he is feisty in the tackle, something what has been missed since Ashbee. I like a good strong tackle. I like him just for leaving there player in a heap. Also, liked the one where there player tried to take Thudd out, come off worse and we just carried on.

I thought Snodgrass put in a great performance barring the end product, he didn't seem to put many decent balls in despite getting in superb positions and demanding the ball all game.

Thing is, we know he's got a quality delivery and given 10 crosses a game he's guaranteed 2 or 3 quality ones even within a poor performance. Glad that he got the assist for Aluko's goal, his effort was only bettered by Sagbo for me.

I thought Snodgrass floated through the first half. He improved a whole lot when he moved to the left wing and played a lot better.
