http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-win-2-1-2-1-agg-Europa-League-qualifier.html post match wrote up I saw. Not terribly complememtary, but some nice pictures!
Not much better from the yorkie post. But a win is a win http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spor...dream-alive-after-aluko-hits-winner-1-6774623
Sky Sports got it right. We narrowly missed what would have been a HUMILIATING exit against poor opposition.
I don't think they were poor opposition, they played well in both games and I'd quite like their 27 to sign for us.
I dont disagree with that Sky Sports assessment, but they were not pushovers. They had a game plan and it nearly worked. They hit us on the break and it worked once and could have worked a few ohter times. No 27 was very tricky; swapped wings to try and seek out the sloer defenders and always looked dangerous. i wonder if the person who wrote that Sky Sports assessment actually watched the game!!!
According to the BBC we had no corners and only 2 shots the whole game: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28604686 I remember at least 4 corners (I think) and us having more shots that.
Somebody at work this morning asked me if the BBC stats were right - I hadn't seen them until then. They're total bollocks. Where did they get them from?!
I assume it means we had no coverage so no idea what happened. What we do know is that there were 3 goals, all of which must have been on target and we'll call possession 50-50. I was quite impressed by their scorer, no. 6 Tomas Malec. He's 6' 6" and just as wide. Dwarfed Curtis and I'm surprised he wasn't more of a threat at set pieces.
Quite obviously the stats on the BBC were not updated because they had no one covering the game live, the only updates they had was the score (hence being able to deduce some shots on target), in all fairness they probably shouldn't have updated them at all to avoid this confusion/outrage.
They had Burnsy covering the game live. PS - I didn't edit your post, I just clicked on edit by mistake.
They did for local commentary but he doesn't have the ability to record the stats (he can barely commentate!). They usually send a match reporter to do that sort of thing, obviously didn't think it was worth their while last night.
Local radio and BBC online do not speak with each other. It might seem a logical idea for his stats to be used but the Beeb don't work logically.
