Sagbo - his best game for us yet IMO Snodgrass - looks like a good signing Elmo - Great leap for his goal and caused them a few problems
He did well to recover from a bad start when it looked like he was invisible for the goal. Hes a good player but like you say a bit off-the-pace but I thought the same applied to a few others like Long, Snodgrass and Livermore. Elmo got us back in the game so he gets my vote. Chester- a few mistakes but he is a class act Mcgregor also- maybe overlooked but the best keeper we've had for 20 years
I thought Brady's distribution and positional sense were generally poor. It was the left hand side where they looked threatening until Rosie came on.
1Chester 2Elmo 3 Sagbo Chester and Elmo our standout performers tonight as Chester also was last week .. I do wonder if we were watching the same game when I read this type of comment ..
Missed the game today as I was driving down from Oregon to SoCal so have only seen the goals. Elmo's leap for his headed goal looked prodigious on the video. Reminded me of how he won every high ball from McGregor in the Cup Final. Looking forward to the draw tomorrow.
Lots of people picking Snodgrass. I thought other than his corners he was pretty poor for the first hour. I lost count of how many times he gave the ball away. I'd put that down to nerves though as he was clearly trying and he improved a lot at the end. Sagbo was a beast. He won everything coming in his direction and rarely missed a pass. He was too strong for them. It gives me great hope seeing how he played tonight. Sagbo Chester Elmo
Sagbo Chester Elmo I'm surprised Brady is getting a few mentions, he was terrible for the first half hour, though his cross for the goal was superb(as was Snodgrass' through ball to him). Special mention for Ince, he's an exciting player.
Utterly cluless comment, Chester is the only defender we have comfortable with a ball at his feet. He picks out switch balls as well as Thudd and is never rushed by the strikers
1) Sagbo 2) Elmo 3) Brady (just to annoy the t**ts behind me who wanted him substituting after 3 minutes and were convinced Bruce would do it).
The player ratings in the HDM are terrible, they've given everyone a 6, except McGregor and Sagbo got a 7 and Long got a 5.
1 - Sagbo - by a mile his best game for City. Lone striker doesnt suit him IMO, but having quality players around him to hold the ball up and play some decent passes off to shows his strengths. He drew in 2 or 3 defenders every time he got the ball. Was impressed!! 2 - Elmo 3 - Chester Brady was a little rusty and gave the ball away a few times in that first 20mins or so, but came good and looked hungry. Livermore and Snodgrass were decent too! I think SB summed it up when he talked about quality coming off the bench - Aluko looked better, Rosenior stopped Moses Simon who always looked dangerous, Ince looked sharp and promising. The game had a touch of pre-season about it. Too many silly passes. Thudd not on his passing game as much and a few too many daft passes. But I am feeling positive for Europe and the Premier League!!
Not that I read the mail, but is this actually a surprise ? Football writing was never the Mail's strong point from my previous dabbles into the paper.
