I'm gonna be at 'Beautiful Days' festival, watching The Dead Kennedys, so gonna miss the first game. Typical that this year it's a home match to start
Season tickets arrived 30 minutes ago so I am raring to go again. Amazing after so many seasons (see my avatar!) the buzz still arrives on cue every August. Many on here (including me) seem to like the Crown and Sceptre so that seems like the best option for a casual meet up before the Hull game.
Staines...............Done that one a few times .............it's the Levellers own gig isn't it? Saw Stiff Little Fingers amongst others last time. Happy Days
they are in London the day after, who`s the singer now ? It was jeff penalty last time I saw them, which was in Brighton, the night before England played Brazil in the world cup. Fantastic band, I talked to East Bay Ray while the support act played ( Peter and the TT Babies ) Enjoy !!
That's the one mate, my mates go every year 'cos it's pretty chilled out and non commercial. The line up isn't that great (Seasick Steve and Steve Earle headlining) but I'll mostly be in the Dance Tent
Yeah I saw they are playing Koko in Camden on the Sunday which should be a good gig. Nearly gave up on the festival so I could see them there , but got persuaded otherwise. I'll be honest, I didn't realise till they were announced at the festival that Jello has fallen out with the rest of the band (something to do with letting Levi's use a DK song in a commercial I think) and was a bit pissed off to say the least. Gonna be weird seeing them without him but gonna give it a try. I used to be good mates with one of the Roadies of Peter and the Test Tube Babies and had more than a few sessions with them before and after gigs in the 80s/90s....great times.
I`ll be at the conningham for the Sunderland game, on holiday on the 16th, and of cause 3 weeks after the Sunderland game we all know who`s coming back to pay us a visit dont we !!
Ditto...unless we do the wine bar option.....nah, let's save that for a likely home loss, cushion it with a few glasses of an excellent red pre match.
It's amazing to think that it's a year since I met some of you for the Shef Weds game, no doubt when I come back next year you'll still be meeting at the C & S, I'll hope to have my boy in tow with me wearing his Dennis the Menace shirt....if I can get tickets!! I have a feeling we'll do okay this year for what it's worth.
