After enjoying a typically confusing close season the Leeds United campaign starts on the road as the guests of our good friends, Millwall. With a whole host of new names on Leeds shirts and an unproven coach in the dugout literally anything could happen this season. Let's hope The Hock has made sure the new players are aware that pride is at stake in this fixture. Putting aside the somewhat farcical 16-0 win in Leeds' first pre season fixture, results have improved throughout the summer as new signings have arrived and systems experimented with. The tactical ability of the new head coach will be tested more with more rigour when the new season gets underway however. Millwall have had a considerably quieter pre season, picking up a good result against Mallorca will have boosted their confidence going into the first fixture though. Historically, the rivalry between these two needs no introduction, there is always a fierce passion associated with these matches. The fact that Leeds won the last fixture means little in a tie that historically shows no real bias to either side, though Millwall have taken the spoils at the Den with some consistency in recent years. One thing is guaranteed, this will be an explosive start to the season. Leeds Wins 14 Draws 3 Millwall Wins 11

Leeds Pre-season Millwall Pre-season

W 2 - 0 Dundee United Mallorca 1 - 0 W Last Game

W 0 - 5 Glenavon Stevenage 2 - 2 D 2 - 1

W 1 - 2 Swindon Town Dartford 1 - 0 W Leeds Win

D 2 - 2 Chesterfield 22/03/14 - Elland Road

L 2 - 0 Mansfield

Team News Damned's Starting XI

Leeds New boss David Hockaday has the whole squad available to him going into the first fixture of the season. Millwall have an impressive record against Leeds at The Den, and they will be looking to keep that up. I think that the new defence will show that it has more about it than last season and we will look a bit more solid at the back. Morison has been grabbing a few goals in pre-season, and he will look to continue against his previous employers. Millwall have Ricardo Fuller at their disposal (probably from the bench) and he has bags of experience that will be a test for those defenders among our back line who are new to the English game. For my team, it's pretty much the faces from pre-season as I can't really form an opinion on the lesser known new faces until we are a few games in!

Have Your Say First Match Day Thread of the season! I think last season he scored 18 goals. He's quick, he's clever, he's a good technician, he's got pace, he scores goals. Hasn't scored 18 goals in the last 3 years think Cellino is pulling his plonker
Afternoon all. A fine thread to kick off the season Dammed. Leeds to win 2-0 with it being 0-0 at half time.
I will drink them on Saturday for you as you didn't bother coming. No point betting with a bloke who won't turn up to pay out.
alright guys! I'm going with a cheeky 2-1 to Leeds for this one anybody know if it's gunna be on the foreign telly? every single bar out here has Al-jazeera (now beIN) sports, although I'll be lucky if I can convince them to put Leeds on instead of the charity f-ing shield!
According to Wikipedia he scored 10 for Swindon and 7 for Posh last season. So who do we believe, Hock, Wikipedia or Mighty ?
