Birch said on the Forum tonight that he had heard a couple of months ago that Gradel wouldnt be opposed to a move back to the Walkers. What do we think, and do we need him. Would Sven want him ?
yeah, shouldn't have sold him in the first place, but i doubt that Leeds will wanna let him go, im guessing hes worth £3m+ based on last season. But you never know Mr Bates may sell him for 50p and a Pukka Pie!
yes he is a good player, would i want him back? HELLO NO! he still can't cross and i wouldn't want him on the wing when i had gally or vassell...
a) Paul Gallagher is better b) everyone has a price- a cheap one at that with your chairman c) he never wanted to go in the 1st place it was pearsons fault d) whether we go for him or not (doubtful) we will have a much better squad than you next season
Gradel isnt that good, i rate Jimmy Kebe from Reading higher then Gradel. I would really call Gallagher a winger, same way you wouldnt call David Beckham a winger
yeah proud, but gally plays in similar position and is better. Wouldnt mind maxi on the right and gally on the left though with maynard or CMS uptop. If he does move from leeds i think it will be to a prem team. Maybe wigan would have him to repace n'zogbia? leeds really are a joke. Lose kasper for peanuts, kilkenny for nowt and sign blackpools 3rd choice keeper
Will always love Max for that 9th minute of injury time equaliser at MK Dons! While he was here he had limitations. He had plenty of pace, energy and passion but often did not produce an end product. If he has a little more maturity now and awareness of the game around him, he must be fantastic. He looks it on the TV but the truth is, you only get to see what a player does right in highlights. The bottom line is, I don't know whether he's the best winger in the Championship but I would have him back like a shot! Can't see it though.
From seeing him play week in week out I can quite confidently say he's at least top 3 out of the wingers in the Championship. He's unbelievable and this "average" rating you're giving him must have been from his time at Leicester before he had developed into the player he is now.
We always seen potential in Gradel but he had no end product and his sulks meant he was a liability at times. He still looks a liability at times but he does now have a end product. Hopefully Leeds sell him for a decent fee as we are entitled to a large chunk of it
Pros: Pacey player, seems to be in the right place at the right time, likes to take defenders on. Cons: Hes easily wound up by defenders and cant seem to calm down, crossing isnt brilliant.
Not at all. Four yellow cards and no reds all season, and no angry reactions at all that come to mind. His crossing's not as good as Snodgrass' on his day, but it's certainly not as erratic as it was when we first picked him up and causes defenders a lot of problems. A lot better than Kebe's from what I've seen of him, he just uses his pace and tries to dribble it back across the box again. Max's record speaks for itself anyway. 18 league goals, five assists, end product, pace and tireless work for 90 minutes. Which other winger in the league can score, create and track back to the same extent as Gradel? None.
From what i have seen of Gradel in both a Leicester and Leeds shirt he is a loose cannon. Nigel Pearson tried to keep him under control and couldnt. Grayson couldnt at first but may of learnt how to control him now. If Max loses his fire then its pointless playing him, but he needs to keep himself under control
I have to agree with the Leeds fans, Gradel is one of the top wingers in the Championship and better than Kebe. Kebe reminds me of Dyer - a lot of pace but very frustrating. The game against us for example, he murdered us up and down the wing then fluffed the final ball/finish almost every time. Gradel has clearly reached the potential that we thought he had at times when he was here.
