Most of the bookies still have us as second favourites for relegation. Given the signings we've made, this is hopefully looking less and less likely. So, given the current odd, how does one make a bob or two from QPR not being relegated? Academic interest only, just for the record!!
http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/to-stay-up These are the odds to stay up. My knowledge of betting is limited, but even though we are second favourites to go down, we're still odds on to stay up judging by this. If you wanted to make any money, I guess you'd bet on someone else to go down, rather than us to stay up. Someone who knows what they're talking about will probably correct me though!
I've looked at this before and there is often no value in the odds to stay up especially given how long the bookies will have your money. There was value for Sunderland with half a dozen games left last season but hard to predict that was going to happen. I do a few accumulators this time of year e/w selecting one from each league. Massive odds but there is usually one that let you down! I like the look of Lukaku as top scorer at 18-1 as well.
On betfair at the mo we are 3.1 to be relegated. 3.15 to lay against that happening. = just over 2/1 to lay. Basically means to win approx £100 you have to risk £200. As said previously you tie ur £200 til season ends. But if you're very confident we won't get relegated then it may be worth your risk. Depends on how u see it. £200 invested in a bank isn't going to give you a return like that but then you would be taking a lot less risk also !
That's why with any of my long term 'accers', I tend to do perms of eg any 4 from 5/ any 5 from 6. That way if one does let you down (Which with me always seems to be the banker), I still get my money back with a few quid on top.
I think this season depend on our shape. On defensive midfielder to link defence and attack and a coupe of confident strikers will see us through the season Unscaved
Seems a risk before the end of August - I'd suggest that a lot of our chances still rely on Remy or how we do in finding a replacement.
200 at 2/1 would give you 500. As stated the odds arent great for these such bets. league winners or top scores of a few leagues ew would pay very well for a small outlay.
I know it's the Mail but this is interesting and seem appropriate to go in this thread. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/you/article-2688788/Real-lives-My-husband-gambled-away-owned.html Just heard him on the radio and sounds a genuine and pleasant fella.
