They claim he's too expensive, but they spent 50 million on David Luiz, i do wonder if we'll go for DI Maria, we've been linked with him for a while now.

Does you new system accommodate him though? Can't see him as a wing back, he's not a striker and you have plenty of central attacking players. Where would he play?

Reports yesterday said it's between us and Monaco.

I don't really care if we get him or not. I'd rather sign a CM and a CB.

Can't believe there hasn't been more word on centre backs. Especially as LVG likes to play about 7 at a time ;)

The new system is only being used due to the squad being so unbalanced. Maybe he's trying to balance the squad to go with a more traditional approach ? Who knows <ok>

Maybe but if you play 5 at the back in the world cup with Holland and come straight to United and implement it (and successfully) despite the players having never played it, you'd have to assume it's his preferred system at this moment.

It's not a system that's tried and tested in the Premier League though. I think we will end up reverting back to 442 or 433 after a little while but we'll have to wait and see.

Hopefully he's got a CB or two lined up <ok>

Di Maria is worth 25M tops and he look at best at Real Madriid when played at cm rather then out wide and he is so inconsistent.

Not sure I agree there tbh. Our squad is unbalanced, but towards wide areas and AMs imo - a 352 doesn't seem to be the best way to deal with that.

I think LVG sees 352 as his preferred formation, but wants to give us the option to play 433 and 442 as well, so is looking at CBs and CMs but also wide players to give us options.

If Lallana is worth 25 million then I can assure you Di Maria is worth A LOT more. The guy dominated that C.L final and was Real's stand out player in La Liga aside from Ronaldo.

    What system is that louis?

You do know he prefers 433 dont you? 352 is for when he lacks the steel in midfield. Holland with strootman was always 433. Without it was 352 to compensate.

Same at united. He may even utilise 442 at times. Might uave something to do with him being a brilliant tactician.

  15. Not seen anything about Man City but it looks odds on to join Real. That'll break the 100m mark for them with ease

Man city cant afford him. Dont people pay attention?

Some idiots think city will walk tge league. They might not even get to play as things stand. Expect loads of cheap ajd **** english players to get bought by city soon.

  17. Wasn't you convinced that FFP wouldn't work and clubs would continue on regardless? What makes you now think Man City won't spend to fit the punishment? Or is it because its a direct rival and it suits your agenda? <laugh>

Surely they could just bring through some english players from their academy, even if they suck, just to make up the numbers.
Im sure they must have a couple of 18 year olds in their youth team who are British.

  19. You would have thought so wouldn't you. They'd rather use loop holes for players like Lampard though :p
