I have been thinking about a project for 2017. Southampton has a play being set up at the moment that sort of set the idea up.

I don't have a title for this but here is the outline.

An online and live Hull City based pageant.

I visualised it being based around the sort of threads that we post on here.
Linking footage from important games, with live music, the chants, fashions, characters and historic events in sequences.

Now comes the hard bit, it would be written and produced on here, by posters who would contribute to and build the pageant piece by piece. Written totally by anonymous posters online and then transfered to a live stage.

Written words would be spoken. Music instead of being a you tube clip would be live cover bands. The chants would be sung by a cast wearing the right replica shirt and clothes for the season and events like the Lloyd tennis balls, the coffin, the gates being locked, Deanos goal and those minutes of agony that we have all shared along with the true moments of joy in supporting City.

As I say it's just an idea and I do not know if it is viable but I think that on this forum we could have the right set of skills to make it work.

It's already been done, it was on at Spring Street Theatre a couple of years ago. I think it was called life as a City Fan

That was written by a world renowned playwright, Omega's idea is much more organic and written by anonymous amateurs.

I think it might come out rather different.

    I like the idea.

    I vaguely remember it now.

I was sort of thinking more of a crowd written thing, lets face it, the football memories, the music, fashion etc, would always be the same, it's the written words from here that makes the difference.

The types of threads that I enjoy reading the most are when posters reflect on matches, or the ones where (and many have including me) thoughts are with our Dads.

There have been Internet choirs. I avoided the use of the word "play" because it wouldn't be a fictionalised account, but a collection of memories being portrayed live, that are all from posts on here.

One of my mates sings obscure chants from the 70's and 80's. Although he never says it, he is an "on a Tuesday night in Torquay" supporter. Just having his memories would possibly be like Confession of a City Fan.

Alan Plater wasn't just a 'world renowned Playwright' he was also a dedicated Hull City supporter and stuck with the club through it's very darkest days.
'Confessions of a City fan' was updated and shown at the 'new' Hull Truck on Ferensway, four or five years ago, watched by Phil Brown, Paul Duffen and many of the first team squad and was so inspirational to Brown that he used lines from the play in his team talk the following day.
A thread running through the Play was that many of City's big games ended up 0-0. What was the score of our first ever game in the Europa League last week ?
I believe the late Alan Plater deserves a blue plaque of recognition for his 'world renowned ' writing and I cannot think of a more fitting place then the KC Stadium.

Confessions Of A City Supporter was excellent. Roy North was in the original cast (i.e. first time round) alongside Martin Barrass. If you missed it, you missed out.

Roy sits near me at the KC and we often have a chat. As I said I vaguely remember the play and that includes its name.

I am not saying that a play gets written, this is something different and as someone has said "organic".
