Howard Webb retires

Howard Webb has retired to take up a Technical Director role with the PGMOL after 25 years refereeing.

Hull City A.F.C vs Everton was the last Barclays Premier League fixture he officiated.

 

Sad day for the refereeing world. Our best by a mile.

 

Bit out the blue.

Easily our best referee.

 

Hopefully this will tempt Mike Riley out of retirement. Otherwise we look very short on quality officials.

That the same Mike Riley in charge of our quarter final against Arsenal in our first season in the Premier League? One of the most biased displays of refereeing I think I've ever seen. He was a liability, Webb is three times the ref he ever was.

 

I'd agree with that.

 

Isn't he the ref who booked the same player 3 times in the same match, lost control of a world cup final and was very biased for big clubs. I personally say good riddence to a very over rated individual. Sadly he's in charge of refereeing.

2. I would've liked to have seen another referee keep control of that final, it was ****ing chaos way out of the hands of the officials.

 

Haha for about five seconds I was thinking just how ugly his wife was then saw the other faces

 

Hopefully he will soon take over from Mike Riley. The sooner the better imo.

Remember when he sent 4 people off at the KC in our first PL promotion season?

I wanna say it was against Burnley, I remember Okocha was one of them.

 

Yeah, it was the Burnley game. Folan was the other one sent off for us I think.

 

Sad news really, he was by far the best PL ref.
