Leave it out, the pair of you! <laugh>

SNIOM is pretty much the only Gooner that even attempts to make balanced comments on our board at the moment, Ensil.
You may not agree with a lot of what he says, but you have to admit that he's a step up from the likes of Pisskie and Vela.

I'm just calling it how I see it.
I'd like this board to be a return to the days when 606 was actually worthwhile and that generally involved fans of other teams posting an alternative, honest perspective.

If you see things like this on here in future though SNIOM, you may be better off just ignoring them.
There's always going to be some things on the Spurs board that aren't to your taste and I think you'd probably prefer it that way, if you think about it! <laugh>

It used to be somewhere where genuine criticism could be expressed without threads descending into crap, spam and moderation.
It had a lighthearted side that a lot of people appreciated and quite large amount of off-topic articles and comments too, but it generally was what you made it.
There were regular posters from several other sides, but that died because of this defensive mentality that the WUMs helped to install.

We don't need to repel WUMs on here though, Ensil.
We can have that fresh start by merely blocking them and deleting their comments and articles.

It's down to the moderators to block them or delete their comments, Ensil.
If the rest of us just ignore them, then they'll stop posting, though.

Easier said than done Ensil, but there's no point in baiting them, as it just gives them a reason to return.
If someone's got a worthwhile contribution, then I welcome them to the board, even if I don't agree with them.
If they don't have anything worthwhile to say, then we probably shouldn't bother with them at all.

I've been guilty of it myself too, but old habits are hard to shift sometimes!

At the risk of upsetting the apple cart, my last forays onto the spurs board were to talk about Modric's quotes about his desire to join Chelsea and Gary Mabbutt's comments about the transfer saga. Perfectly reasonable and valid topics for a football forum in my opinion. As SNIOM has mentioned
I would hope that if we are to move forward and have a 'fresh start', then we could all have the insight to look beyond our own assumptions and prejudices and the reactionary labelling of wummery and actually take the comments on their own merits. We may not be fans of the same team, but sometimes we need a perspective outside of our comfort zones to allow us to see the wider scenario. A football forum that encourages healthy debate, ought to be embracing these principles. I hope this comment is taken in the spirit in which it has been written and that it's not jumped on simply to satisfy anyone's need to 'have a dig'.<ok>

To my mind, this is what a forum should be about - Debate. There's very little point in a forum where everybody has the same point of view. As to the WUM's, there's refreshingly few on this site - one of the many things I prefer about it. The idiot WUM's, such as Michigan, being particularly irksome. I don't think most of us mind a little joust with the opposition now and then, it's when it descends into infantile back and forth banter, that I switch off

You're a known WUM with multiple banned accounts on 606 though, Piskie.
    You've WUMmed on here.
If people react negatively to an individual comment from you, regardless of it's content or validity, then they're not jumping to any conclusions.
Those are conclusions that you've pushed them to.

Why would anyone expect one of your comments to have been made in good faith?
You start from a more negative position than somebody who's never posted before.

I have to admit I've found myself agreeing with some of SNIOM's comments, one in particular I couldn't have put better myself, he seems to be an ok gooner. (Thats as good as it gets from me!)....now where's the soap! <laugh> (to wash my mouth out before anyone gets any other ideas!)

I would hope that people would have the intelligence and insight to make their own conclusions, rather than feel that they have been 'pushed' towards making any - As I've mentioned, if you read my comments without any prejudice, then you'll realise that they are perfectly reasonable and valid for a football forum that encourages debate.

It takes some humility to actually see that and more importantly, to acknowledge that, but I would hope that you are able to rise above the temptation to simply react because you see my name next to a comment.

As fans of rival teams, of course we're not always going to share the same perspective on any given situation, but this should not preclude us to assume that the intention is to wind each other up. Ultimately, I can only speak for my own intentions, but I can honestly say that on this forum, my comments and threads have been designed to stimulate debate, not to provoke. I live in hope that you are able to see that. <ok>

People won't read your comments without prejudice though, Piskie.
You're the one that's created that prejudice.

It's quite clear that I'm capable of entering into healthy debate with fans of pretty much any team, including Arsenal, but if you're essentially the Boy That Cried WUM.
You've done it repeatedly and on more than one forum and now you're claiming that you're not a WUM.

Fine, I'll go with that, but I think that you'll find that it'll take people that are familiar with your previous behaviour some time to accept sensible comments from you at face value.

I think, Piskie, that as well as the Michigans of the world, it's the fans of other teams who either seem to camp on our board, or only ever appear when there's some adverse news concerning Spurs, that come under my WUM classification criteria.

    Ensil...

The sad fact is, that if you make it your habit to comment on the Gooner board, they will eventually ban you.

I wish our mod had the guts to ban idiots like Fibreglass, SNIOM and Peskie.

There is definitely one rule for Gooners and one for everyone else on this site.

Well, I for one and not going to be at all polite to any of the Gooners on this site, not after the way they've treated me and, at the same time, taken the piss out Spurs fans. Every WUM comment is going to get what it deserves from me, and it will not be nice <ok>

Prejudice is owned by the person who harbours it.
