Doesn't that comment deserve a new thread?

The Liverpool fans were taking it very seriously up until Rooney scored. One of them was already looking forward to LVG's first defeat as United manager! It's only now that it was a meaningless friendly!

Liverpool were terrible up front. They need to sign a world class striker but Brenda seems to have blown the budget on squad players.

Prefer it to be called "The USA paid Europe top dollar to send some teams over cup"

That would be nearer the truth

The win will be a big confidence boost for your team going into the new season but I'm far from a-feared. The play wasn't one-sided and we played without a striker for a long period of time... and Lambert for the rest (which is good as not having a striker! <laugh>). It was also mostly kids on for the 2nd half.

Had Studge been healthy, I think it could easily have gone the other way. The game also highlighted our need for full-backs... which I sincerely hope we sign along with a striker. (because we haven't signed enough people this summer <whistle>).

It will be a welcome confidence boost for United- but it has left me more confident for the season ahead for Liverpool as long as we fix our striker/fullback problem.

We've got more than enough midfielders- and I don't think Goalkeeper is a problem. He single handedly won us games last season.

Striker and fullbacks really the only pressing concern and striker we're fine except for when Sturridge is injured... but during 3 months out of the year we're OK... <whistle>

be honest, your keeper is shocking.

and you have loads of midfielders. Loads of really really bad midfielders.

Your team is a concern for you <ok>

He is right, but the defense is the biggest problem you have, along with Slippy G, he gave away to many free kicks.

    Midfield is fine.
Coutinho, Henderson, Can, Lallana. All good players.

Gerrard is way past his prime... I've not been impressed with his new role in the team. With any luck Rodgers will stop playing him there before long. He's already said Gerrard will only start half the games.

We need fullbacks and a new striker. I'm more than content with out midfield.

He's right on Mingnolet, Reina is way superior.

No idea why you don't just have him back.

I have no idea how that is going to work Reina is still a Liverpool player but there's no sign of him and nothing has come forward suggesting he's going to move.

Mingolet is a good keeper though and lets face it Reina was poor in his last 2 seasons with us so who's to say that will change, I'd go with Mingolet at the moment over Reina.

As in life, you gets what you pay for. Its easy to buy 8 mediocre players, when the same money would buy you 2 world class players. But Brenda knows better I suppose

Reina is better than Mignolet- I would agree with that. He is also better suited to the style we play. Or at least WAS better. Reina's last season with us was uncharacteristically bad- and he didn't do too well in Italy either. Not sure if Reina is the same Reina he was- but I'd take the old Reina back in a heart-beat.

Migs isn't that bad though. There were times he made superhuman saves last season that won us games. Would I rather Reina, or Lloris, or some other top keeper- absolutely... he isn't my first choice to replace though.

Look better but it's pre season so time will tell

Can it really be a worse season Erm no

Top 4 achievable I'd say but no guarantee

Are you in the Europe League? If not I'd say you will challenge
