That is remarkable. There's some pitches and a building of some sort slightly visible in the bottom left hand corner.
I believe the central block is the main complex inc Gym, pool, medical centre etc The smaller stadium upper middle is for reserve/youth/academy games There are a number of pitches for use by all levels within the club inc both outdoor & indoor 4G pitches
I was there on business a couple of months ago and got a tour of the complex, in a word wow!! They have some big plans in place and from top to bottom the place is top notch. Couple of useless facts I picked up while there 1 they are the only club in England with a carpeted tunnel! This is due to the tunnel having a slope and the before it was carpeted a couple of players injured themselves slipping on it. 2. When mark Hughes took charge he had the away dressing room changed from a rectangle room to an L shaped room as that way it would be harder for opposing managers to give team talks to everybody at the same time told you they were useless!
I wonder what this type of investment and facility will do overall for the good of the England team, in bringing on younguns etc? Hopefully something positive.
A friend of mine is an architect in Manchester and attended one of the planning meetings. Certainly is an amazing facility with features such as a specific goalkeeper training pitch. Apparently one key feature required by the planners is a huge underground reservoir to store and recycle water. It's a quantum leap (or several) beyond anything else in the UK.
Club and council working together. Perhaps Hull City Council should hire a mini bus, have a ride out to Manchester and do a field study ? and pigs might fly.
And if Terry Geraghty gets his way, which he usually does, a heavily subsidised ice hockey team. Has anyone ever seen the attendance for a ice hockey game published anywhere? Is it a secret how many people go to watch this sport?
HCC will meet shortly with the bloke who put together the deal between Man City and the council, courtesy of CTWD.
This reminded me of a video I saw the other day showing Keylor Navas' (New Madrid keeper) training routine, I found it pretty interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEX589YMK-w
They are building a 75 million dollar facility like this Man City one in Kansas City. Its a 190 acre facility that will have 16 fields (8 youth, 8 professional) and an indoor complex with an indoor field. No pictures yet just this rendering.
Is the land used to create this impressive facility a redundant area that was used for the Manchester commonwealth games? The Man City stadium is part of the games legacy - the training facilities look outstanding and light years ahead of anyone else.
did,nt papa doc allam want to build something like this on that ****hole of a place called walton street car park\fair ground??
