Good Morning Everyone, Our final pre season match saw Leeds comfortably beat Dundee Utd at Elland Road on Saturday. A goal in the first couple of minutes from Morison, and a second in the dying minutes courtesy of Poleon was enough to give Leeds a comfortable victory over their SPL opponents. Benito Carbone has left Elland Road. The official word is family reasons, though its widely reported that he and Cellino had had busts ups over the Summer. Carbone had this to say on twitter Retweeted by Phil Hay please log in to view this image BENITO CARBONE @carbobenny10 · 59m Good luck to all of you for the new season , I'm sure Leeds back in premier soon .. Frederiki Sorensen WILL join Leeds on a season long deal, with the view of signing him permanently. The 6.4 defender is 22, plays for Juve, and has been capped at junior levels by Denmark. Cellino says Benedicic signed from AC Milan last night and is now training with Leeds. More to follow as we get it
Morning Elland that defender sounds very promising and tall!! Hoping that the Milan kid is as good as they say, shame about Carbone though. If we really have lost interest in Cooper and we land Sorensen instead then add that to the Ross sale and Viviani pull out and other clubs and agents will see Cellino has a no nonsense approach in the transfer market
I posted links to Sorensen (and the Delort thing has been mentioned again) in the Rumours thread Good morning - and good to have some positive rumours to wonder about, at any rate
Morning, Sorensen sounds just like what we need at the back and has experience at a better level of football so would be a great signing, hope this one gets done
Morning all...I enjoyed the game against Dundee Utd, thought we passed the ball well, thought Moro worked hard, can't wait for the season to start...
Morning all ... good game Saturday, Bianchi looks awesome, anyone else notice how Poleon always seems to score a goal, don't like us playing one up front as it stops us creating pressure in opponents box ... really don't get Cellino and his ego, seems if he is slightly challenged its curtains ... so what's the point of getting Carbone in to replace Redders as U21 coach and head of academy, we then sack two highly rated young coaches in Naylor and Bromby (both lifelong Leeds fans who want to help the club), and then Carbone leaves before the season starts ... its this kind of disruption that doesn't do us any favours at all, and we can add the missed transfer targets to that and you start to worry a bit ... if Bianchi and Berardi look good so far, I can but only imagine how good Viviani (a much higher rated talent) is, and at 22 the right age for our team ... yes, people will point to the signing of Benedicic but he is just 18, so won't last a full season in the cauldron of the Championship and is more of an academy signing I understand that people are positive towards Cellino and feel he's doing an amazing job, and I for one am pleased he's taken over, but I still fear his ego and temper, and unless he reigns it in he will do more damage than good ... the day will come when he has yet another undignified outburst in the media (bad form Massi) against a potential signing and it will be the wrong one to attack, the wrong agency, and before you know it we are blacklisted as a club to avoid wasting time with if "your player has any sort of talent" ... yes, this **** happens, and then you add to this his penchant for hiring and firing, and not wanting a proper manager, hmmmm ... well, it will at some point become evident that English football still follows traditional rules, and you can't simply stroll in and do as you please (stand up Tan at Cardiff, how you royally fcuked your club and its reputation, now quality players will rather go elsewhere, and it looks like Saints, Hull and Swansea to follow if they're not careful)
Mornin all. All good stuff these days and pause for one moment, maybe Carbone did have to go for family reasons, there doesn't always have to be alterior motives. As for Cellino, it's his way or no way. He won't pay over the odds for anyone or anything, whether that's players, thorp arch or Elland road. That's the reason he's survived this long in football and business I suspect. I get the feeling though, one of our less talked about signings may yet prove to be our most valuable, our director of football Salerno. Seems to know his stuff and seems to be using the promised scouting network him and Cellino set up across Europe
I agree, add the Milan kid and IF Sorensen does join you have to look at the signings we have made and the potential that they have and wonder if anyone else would have managed to persuade them Elland Road was the place to come. Sorensen does sound too good to be true, get him signed on the dotted line and we then just need an out and out striker and we might just have a decent starting 11.
Morning all. Everything' coming along nicely for the start of the season. We could do with another striker, but everything else is looking good. Think the fans will also appreciate the Hock's attempts at trying to get us to play proper footy as well.
I think the panic buying button has been hit youve had 3 months and the money its either panic buying or Massimo Bates saving of wages
I have no problem with a hard line approach when it comes to wages, as long as the wages we set our level at are REALISTIC for the league we are in ... is Cellino being pig headed about "his" wage level?
Promising, maybe very good, 3 great signings so far, Hock could surprise us all, Going to be a scratchy hard fought battle at the weekend in Bermondsy, as we still haven't got a settled team. Just a couple of thoughts about the happenings recently at ER
Bianchi and Barardi have had to set up home in a new country, would they agree to this if being paid peanuts? Cellino has been quoted as saying he will reward success, I have a strong feeling they are on a pretty average wage for the division with a big bonus promise if we are promoted, just a hunch.
Good morning to Matt and co from a very sunny Bardsey .I am taking my good lady of 33 years to the magpie for lunch at Whitby we have been married 33 years today!
