It is my sincere hope that all of the supporters groups can start to work together. Forget the past and move on. There are bound to be issues that are not agreed on and trains of thought that differ, but the common bond of supporting Hull City should overcome the differences. It's about time that we had a Hull City supporter group federation.
I thought since they merged, we only had one, and that seems unclear of its role. The OSC isn't a supporters group in my view as it doesn't act on behalf of fans.
There is a single supporters group, it's called City Till We Die and it's not at all unclear about it's role, it's merely undergoing a transition from being a campaign group to being a supporters trust.
You're dismissing or simply erasing the other supporters groups? I bet they're chuffed about that. At least you're setting your stall out early and clearly this time around.
What other supporters groups? There's only the OSC and they're controlled by the club, they're never going to fight for fan rights, they're only interested in getting players to their meetings, Every other supporters group support CTWD, in fact, so do half of the OSC.
What other supporters groups? Your last sentence states there are others, and that they support CTWD. Which is it? None or some? Doesn't mean only CTWD exists as a supporters group does it? There's quite a few groups of supporters, with their own names and their own identity, I hope they realise how insignificant they are to you, and that you just want to wipe them out of existence. One voice, we're all the same, as long as we're all CTWD. You might not like the OSC either, doesn't mean they're not a Supporters Group too. They're undergoing some changes at the moment, and while I understand you don't like change, and I also acknowledge they won't turn into a militant organisation, your churlish statements about them are quite pathetic. The rank hypocrisy is mind numbing here. You're one step from just dismissing the other groups as minority hooligans. In fact, Id say you're doing them an even bigger slap in the chops seeing as how you're meant to be on their side. Resistance is futile.
If you want to become a paid up member of a Hull City supporters club, you can jointhe OSC, or you can join CTWD, or you can join both. There's the Tigers co-op, but they're about to merge with CTWD and if you live down south you can join HCSS, but they're run by founder members of CTWD and almost all of them are members. Who else is there?
Regarding the original point, I don't think there's any conflict between supporters groups and like OLM says there arent many. People still misunderstand the OSC, thinking they're a campaign group when really they're more about membership benefits. And we can't forget the name change issue until it's concluded. The owners need to tell the fans what's next and then we can all either move forward together after they apologise or continue the fight. At the moment everything is up in the air.
Just for the record, I have no problem with the OSC, I think Bernard is a bit of a clown, but other than that I have a problem with them. The only thing is, that they're a members benefit club(as PLT says), they are never going to campaign for fan rights, they're obliged to support whatever the club does.
every OSC has to be like that. Doubt any OSC has gone against the club associated with it - be it the issues with Kinnear at Newcastle, the Glaziers at Manchester United etc, etc.
What exactly is official about the OSC anyway? Is it actually a part of hull city 1904 tigers association football club limited or whatever the business is called? Or is it an independent entity and just considered official as it's the supporters group the club recognises and sends the players and club officials to their functions?
I think most official supporters clubs are actually run by the clubs, they're not usually independent at all. I suspect ours will end up going the same way.
Apologies, I overlooked that one. I'm expecting the gnome to come up with his list of supporters groups shortly.
Yeah the second one. Completely separate entity but recognised by the football club as official. Without that recognition there'd be no point in the OSC.
