Strolling along the concourse of Eastbourne promenade, having gone past the pier 5 mins previously I walked past Roy and said Hello Roy and he looked backwards and smiled,I turned round and put my thumb up and said I'm a QPR fan proudly Which Roy was I on about Nice man he came across in real life too.
spot on..was with his wife I think...Never pretended he had not heard me,seemed pleased he was recognised...Very nice character.
Sorry just too late with my random guess....does your Roy live in Eastbourne....surely not on holiday...
You live locally...yeah come for an 8 mile walk across the downs towards Beachy Head if you like? Talk all things QPR
Eastbourne, gods waiting room.......................................... where all the BURNT out relics seem to go.
My Nan and Grandad used to live in Bexhill......now that really was a place where the old went to die. I remember as a kid my grandad told us about a young couple who had moved in next door, and how it was nice for the younger generation to move in....turns out the couple were in their late 50's !!! I recall their being some old pavilion on the sea front where we used to go for Sunday tea...is it still there ??
My great aunt always used to get the hump when people mentioned that she lived in Bexhill. "It's Bexhill-on-sea," she'd say indignantly.
The South Downs are really spectacular when the weather is very changeable, I played golf at Hollingbury Park one day when it was showery and the view changed dramatically as the skys changed from hour to hour. It was certainly a day to remember and I've been along Beachy Head regularly, a great place to get away from it all...
Eastbourne used to be known as gods waiting room, however a lot of families with young children live here now. http://www.eastbourneherald.co.uk/news/local/town-population-s-age-profile-drops-1-1416162 http://www.eastbourneherald.co.uk/news/local/eastbourne-s-anger-over-age-story-1-5623609
Having travelled a bit I can say my home town of Eastbourne is the cleanest seaside town in the UK Mrs DT and myself been looking into buying in Meads because you get beautiful houses for far better prices than Brighton which is currently having an Exodus ... Told them too many people trying too hard ... Eastbourne offers a far better life IMO I spent most of my life growing up on a farm 6 miles inland but was actually born in Eastbourne as my grandad had five calves and a few litters of pigs to deliver and they were worth more Roy very suited to Eastbourne and bet he is staying at the Grand or the Cavendish ... Right up his street
The only time that I came across someone famous in football it involved a copy of 'Sports Illustrated' and a defiled centrefold of Gabby Yorath...
