Lacazette or Remy... Or it's likely that that's it until January.

According to Graeme Bailey we are still after Remy despite Pardew playing it down, but are trying to sign Lacazette as our priority target. He says that reports that Lacazette has rebuffed us are untrue and that the player is open to the move. If we cannot agree a fee for Lacazette then we will turn to Remy. Aubameyang is reportedly the only other striker we are looking at and unfortunately he has ruled out leaving his club.

If we fail to sign either Lacazette or Remy then we will, according to Mark Douglas, be probably be 'banking the money' and waiting until January, desperately hoping that at least one of Riviere, Ferreyra or Perez come good in a big way.

Despite Alan Pardew saying Loic Remy deal is gone, not sure club's hierarchy are of the same opinion. Wouldn't rule it out completely.

The Remy situation remains the same as it was 24 hours ago, Newcastle are keeping abreast of it - Lacazette still their main target.

@GraemeBailey lacazette seems categorically off? 3 approaches knocked back

@GraemeBailey what's the situation then? Reports in France he is set to sign a new deal & has rejected move

@TomFry9 Well he hasnt signed and Newcastle very much still in for him...

@GraemeBailey @TomFry9 Graeme, does lacazette want to come here? French sources say no, English media say yes?

@APillinger @TomFry9 He hasnt ruled it out.

'To spend big on a striker, Newcastle’s officials will have to assemble a cast-iron case and the Plan B on a front-line target is to bank the money and wait until January. The prospect of that happening remains unlikely but probably increased with the signing of Ferrerya.'

Why do we want a young GK, we have some good un's at the club already. It's a good number 2 we need. Elliott is rubbish.

Yeah, disagree (as usual) with Ryder. Woodman's a superb young keeper, we need a second choice. But by all account ol' Eliott hasn't been too bad pre-season. For a number 2. It's very unusual to get a Harper/Given situation at a club of our stature.

For me we could really do with a CB leader. Colo's a calming player, but he's not a Terry/Carra/Ferdinand/Vidic/Jagielka type leader. I'd love us to take Shawcross, I think he's maybe underrated and I don't think you can dip into foreign leagues easily for a leader.

Only see us signing a CF now if Cisse is finished at the club.

Hints of waiting till January tell you the story. Doubt very much if any more are coming in
