There´s nothing quite like it you know Whether eight week old or eighteen years, Once your companion, they give you a glow Every time you caress their ears They care not one jot whether you Own IBM or sweep the street, Their love, adoration and loyalty too They willingly lay at your feet Nor do they care if you are Not on ´Vogue´s front cover each week, In their eyes you look every bit of a star Even if you might feel like a geek They´ll follow you through thick and thin And in all sorts of weather too, Just being there trotting down by your shin Is all that they expect of you I´m currently on number five As good a friend as one need face, Just having him with me helps keep me alive A dog´s love is hard to replace.
Hi skald bor, if only we could command the trust from humans we get from our canine friends. My last friend died three years ago come September; didn't replace him because I wondered who would look after the dog if I died. He was my seventh, the first when I was ten years old. They all linger in my memories. Both daughters have dogs so I am not entirely without a dog's companionship. I appreciate your change of subject from Norwich. You obviously are attached to Rex as witness you avatar, keep your entertaining poetic epics coming.
Why don't these poets write about the stomach churning smell they leave their owners house with. Or the constant barking that pisses off the neighbours. Or the biting of postmen Or the fouling of footpaths and picking it up with a carrier bag Or the hair they leave everywhere Or the vet bills Or the attacking of children I swear, if I ever hear another person declare "ees alright ee won't urt yer" as there scaby mutt jumps up at my children with no muzzle on, eventually someone will get more than the usual verbal response. I am sick and tired of walking round Moushold Heath, dogs running around with no lead, galloping towards, my kids hiding behind me only to hear some **** (and they really are total ****s) shout out "don't worry he's alright". I have absolutely no doubt many of you dog owners will be guilty of this because you just seem to think its OK. You might know your dog is safe (or at least think you do) but others don't. And don't just automatically think other people don't mind if your dog (that has been sniffing around piss and ****) is trying to slobber over them and their family. This is no word of a lie, down Waterloo Park a few weeks ago, some meat head walking around with a pit bull terrier, no lead and about 30 kids playing nearby. What the **** goes on in you dog owners heads, just oblivious that their pets might attack someone even if through playing. It just happened to be a pit bull, but it just made the matter worse. Dog owners, just keep your ****ing pets muzzled up and on a lead, if you want to let them roam free, buy yourself a bigger garden.
I take it from that, that you´re no dog lover or dog owner carrabuh, but then after reading that, I´m rather grateful, on all dog´s behalf, that you´re not.
No, I'm not a dog lover, but its the oblivious owners that assume you love their dog that really piss me off.
He does have a point. Not all dog owners (far from it around Cromer) even bother with the plastic bag sketch, figuring if they go out early enough in the morning, nobody will be watching And the town - nay, the entire coastline of north Norfolk is teeming with holidaymakers, many with young families. Nice.
Not disputing that there are some irresponsible dog owners Cromer, but there are also plenty of responsible ones who take the job seriously.
Dangerous Dog Owners and Proud, Channel 5, 9pm, Monday. The fruits of my labour over last 4 months. Could be one for you carrabuh.
I try and avoid TV programmes that describe so literally what they are about. They tend to be exploititive trash. Sorry.
