It won't be a rule but the lack of a rule. PL, FA Cup etc you have to have names but they just won't have bothered for a qualifier and the rules presumably allow that. Bit shabby but oh well. Clubs don't like putting names with numbers when they aren't the proper squad numbers, so you usually get this in pre-season until the squad numbers are confirmed. Are you listening to the commentary? He just sounds a bit weird talking about football like when a non-football fan talks about it, and he's getting names wrong. Also is he from Hull? He certainly doesn't sound it. And he just cornily says the tigers all the time where Burnsy or Swanny, or a City fan, would say City.

I have no info but I doubt it. They'd be better served spending this time getting settled into the area and getting fit for the season.
