Still saying on Sky he has put a transfer request in...that has been denied by the club, but apparently asking for a move on several occasions and even arriving with two heavies doesn't constitute a request. For a transfer request to be considered official it has to be written in your own blood on vellum accompanied by your eldest child as a human sacrifice They did say that Saints had reiterated that he wasn't for sale

Max rushden, whoever the **** he is, was hosting Talkshite again this week with Goughie, and asked if he was the only one who felt sorry for schneiderlin being denied his move to a bigger and more successful club, as if it is a players right to be able to just up sticks and move whenever it suited them. I didn't hear any phone in responses from anybody to the comment, but the prick was of the opinion that nasty old saints were holding the player back, and it was somehow bad luck that schneiderlin had somehow missed out on a seat on the gravy train. Being a fairly level headed, calm person (not) I yelled abuse at my car radio and put a CD on before I heard any reaction from anybody - did anybody else hear that today, or should I change my name to paranoid delusional Saint?
To be fair to talkSh!te, they have, on the whole, been supportive and sympathetic to the Saints cause, from what I heard [which isn't a great deal, I'll be honest]. I think they've joined most of the rest of the football public in saying that a smaller club shouldn't be picked clean just because they showed they could be a real threat to the bigger clubs. I mean, this is Southampton FC, the football club that was in 2nd place, at one point, and for a delicious 20 minutes or so, last season, were top of the PL, according to BBC's Live League Table [I have the PrintScreen on a hdd somewhere]. We played some very good football indeed, and if only we'd put just 5%-6% chances away, we'd probably have been running away from ManU, etc, into Europa Europe, rather than chasing the top 7. But bollocks to those who jumped, including those who couldn't score those all important extra goals. We'll get along without you.
Adam Blackmore @bigadamsport · 24m Ronald Koeman: "I spoke to Morgan two days ago - he's a Southampton player, will continue to be a Southampton player & should play v Bayer"
You're right I think that we have been receiving a fair bit of sympathy from the media, but it's the underlying idea that it is somehow the natural order of things that the big clubs should be allowed to raid sucessful clubs simply by offering shed loads of cash, and that players should be able to disregard any contractual agreements because they think they are deserving of playing at another level. It just strikes me as funny that when a top player leaves one of the bigger teams to go to La Liga for example, it is somehow a character flaw of the player yet when they do it to the likes of Saints, it is ambition. I certainly agree with your last paragraph and am of the opinion that if they were half as good as they think they are, they would have achieved success with saints by proving it on the pitch. I wonder for instance if Lallana will be given much pitch time if he continues needing 20 attempts on goal before he bags one, which was often the case with Saints. I think I've mostly got over the sense of betrayal I feel over the departed players, and am confident we will continue to grow, but it is tempered slightly by the worry that it could become an annual event. I was extremely pleased when Koeman took over, and I hope he can persuade Schneiderlin and Rodriguez that they do have a top future with Saints however I think that their time with us is also short, and that they'll go in the next window if not before. We'll replace them though, and over time, they will just become just another couple of names in the list of ex players that I have watched over the last 40 years
SSN reporters asks RonKo has MS put in a transfer request, RonKo clearly says no, yet they still continue to perpetuate the myth, do they need it in six foot letters on a banner dangled behind an aeroplane before they believe it? Update: 09:00 1st August and SSN have listened to their own interview and state that Spider has NOT applied for a transfer after all, hoo bloody ray! However they still insist on perpetuating the story, what is their point?
I really get a sense of Ronald's experience in this in dealing with our young, firey personalities. A good steady hand.
