He's not chelsea standard until he improves his hold up play/ first touch. I find it hilarious how people compare him to drogba when they're nothing a like.
Sorry, but there is definitely a difference in the way the majority of lesser teams will set up to play against Chelsea and against Everton. Lukaku doesn't possess the techincal ability to play against teams who sit. So no I don't he'd be banging them in for Chelsea.
We'll never know if he can break down a packed defence if we never let him try. All I know is he has strength, height and good control with a passion to play football and not just collect his money, and a Chelsea fan since a young kid.
Right like I say, no disrespect-but these are the facts as I see them: It will be easier for him to score goals and be the 'main man' at Everton due to the reasons I said before. I'm actually from liverpool (mossley hill) and watch everton regularly when I can: I do accept your point that everton's style of play has changed but to suggest that teams defend as well against chelsea as they do against everton is just wrong, a few teams may come to goodison to sit back but compare that to stamford bridge where its assumed that a team will not voluntarily cross the halfway line. My last point wasn't that because he missed a spot kick he's not of the required quality for chelsea. My last point is that that penalty was his last kick for US. He talks the talk of being a model pro and having ambition, but if I had the chance to make a mark at chelsea and erase that painful memory (at the very least for my own ego) I'd take it even for 6 months. He doesn't care. He's not particularly honorable as while he's engineered this move he's been in the press non-stop. Its a character flaw that I was getting at, maybe I wasn't clear enough but its there. Finally Fellaini is finished at the top level. I wont go into why because its obvious, just google fellaini dribble. No major club will take him on after that i) season just passed, ii) world cup. LVG wont give him a look in if he can help it either.
What point are you even making CP? Lukaku wanted first choice, he was not going to get that at this moment in time so he has left. He is not at the level of RVP, Rooney, Aguero, Dzeko, Negredo, Jovetic, Giroud or Costa. Nowhere near it in fact.
I like him personally, and think Jose is mad to sell him when he's proven in the PL and only 21. He has plenty of time to work on his first touch etc. Now you're simply relying on Costa to be a hit, as I can't see Drogba playing that much, as I think he was partly bought for dressing room/training experience ect. Saying that if the reported 24mil(ish) is true then I'd say both teams have come out the situation pretty well. But overall I think he should have stayed at Chelsea - but I don't know the in's and out's of his attitutde and relationship with Jose, so can't comment on that.
His first touch is worse then ramires and that's saying something. How do you expect him to lead the line and link up with the midfield when he struggles to control the ball under pressure?
The boy can't pass either, he has like 3 or 4 things he REALLY needs to work on to be at our required level. Full disclosure here after the stuff he's pulled over the past 24 months I don't like him very much, but Im convinced selling him at 25 million at this point is the right choice.
Morinho really is special.. Get rid of Lukaku, bring in Drogba and keep Torres £28m is good money to be fair, but surely this just adds more fuel to the fire that Mourinho doesn't know how to manage and get the best of our young developing players, and instead wants to buy ready made players.
Thats the only thing thats irked me tbh. The fact that that stupid ****ing donkey is still at our club. Yet Lukaku gets sold! Still, the kids 21 and wasnt ready to be our main guy, so if he wants to leave, all the best to him.
