QUOTE Harry Redknapp has offered Adel Taarabt a QPR lifeline but has warned the wantaway forward to shape up or ship out.

The mercurial Moroccan was left out of the squad for last week's pre-season tour to Germany due to his poor fitness levels after the summer break.

Taarabt impressed on loan at AC Milan in the second half of last season but a permanent switch to Serie A has failed to materialise and he has been left in limbo as potential suitors are put off by his £65,000-a-week wage.

However, Redknapp is ready to welcome the former Spurs youngster back into the fold if he knuckles down at the club's Harlington headquarters.

He said: "The first day back training he wasn’t fit and hasn’t been fit to train since.

“Then he said he was going to Milan last week. He hasn’t gone so what we need to do with him is get him fit. He’s got to train morning, noon and night really, whether he stays here or goes somewhere else.

“I’ve got a lot of time for Adel. He needs to get himself in shape, like the other lads have done. If he does that he will be a great asset to us I’m sure."

Redknapp reckons the 25-year-old has yet to make his mark in the Premier League after struggling during his spell at Fulham last campaign.

However, the Loftus Road chief says Taarabt has all the attributes to succeed providing he gets in shape.UNQUOTE

Up to you now, Adel. Show us what you're made of.

You could see he was clearly an unfit lard-arse in that earlier training video that the recently-departed Granero romped through.

Exactly, Uber. But before he even starts on his body, he has to get his head into gear

He indeed look exhausted during those pre-season videos

I think Harry is quickly realising the season is coming quicker than expected. A 75% fit Taarabt is probably still a better bet at home than most of our current squad, and Redknapp knows that.

He could do a lot worse than put his arm around Remy and Taarabt and get the most of them whilst he can

I say get rid of him, his attitude stinks & has no intention of getting fit or being a team player, all the others are getting fit so why not him, just fcuk him off out of it.

    Well Swords and Queens

    Harold talks some bollocks

Taarabt's mind on the pitch is second to none at this club and is right up there in the premiership. He has the most remarkable football brain that has unlock any team in the world

Yes it would be great to get him fit but i would play him in any game now because fat or thin he will win you points on his own

    He is our number 10

Andle im Arry. It's what you paid for. I doubt "training morning, noon and night" is going to do it, it'd probably kill him. Give Seedorf a call and ask him to send you his Adel get fit programme.

Think it was pretty apparent to Harry in our last preseason game that the team is well short of quality in the attacking third.

Adel gets fit and we are a better team. Simple as that

Team spirit doesn’t put the ball in the back of the net or create chances

A bigger point that lots of people don’t realise or overlook is that it is easy to have team spirit when you are pushing to a target over the last 7/8 games like we did last season. It’s a far more difficult task to keep a team spirit over a 38 game season. If we ended up getting beat early in the season and showing no signs of scoring or creating chances then trust me the team spirit would soon start to dwndle regardless if Adel doesn’t do as much running as less talented work horses like Barton

Anyone who thinks, talent will reign supreme over fitness, just needs to look at how fit Ronaldo, Messi, Rooney, etc keep themselves, and how quickly "once talented" players who lose their edge/fitness quickly decline.

Not going to even try to anything further.

Bored with Adel threads - everyone has their opinions, that arent going to change

its obviously a balance between various attributes. If fitness was to by your insinuation 'reign supreme over fitness talent' then we would be best off signing up Mo Farah

As i said on a separate thread today. An unfit Adel is no good to anyone. But a fit Adel and he can help create chances and score goals. SWP as a contrasting example, wont create chances no matter how fit he gets.

Juve interested in him according to the link in Grifter's "Jack Cork' (never heard of him) thread.

For such a s**t, feckless, lazy, fat player, that can't be right, surely????

Milan v Juve, come on you red and black bastards in your stupid new shirt, don't let the Old Lady get him! I'd laugh if Adel ends up playing Champions League and Remy doesn't. But I'd prefer to keep them both, happy and motivated with a bunch of hard workers around them, could be special.

    What tosh.

He can't play on his own and the rest of the squad won't play with him.

I'm a huge fan of the guy based on his ability but FFS he should show his employers some respect by at least getting fit.
