Within the next few mins. Adverst on now and they have already had the 2 other guests they advertised earlier so I am guessing HJ is next
He came across quite well. Only 1 or 2 more possible deals left to do but in the main are ready for the forthcoming season. On Bony, He is a fantastic player and great professional but if a CL club came in with the right offer they would take it to Bony and let him decide. I like the they way HJ came across about this nice and open and realistic about what could happen.
Agree, he was very honest and sensible regarding Bony. Hopefully a RB and a DM to come in and we'll be ready.
'On Bony, He is a fantastic player and great professional but if a CL club came in with the right offer they would take it to Bony and let him decide.' Jenkins. "At the end of the day he's [Bony] not for sale, unless someone comes in with an astronomical offer," "It would be silly for any player to say 'I only want to stay at this club'," "Because if a bigger or better so-called club comes along and it's a higher level of football, then every player's going to do it. "But having spoken to him [Bony], he knows he's a Swansea City player. He knows that nothing's happened so far." Monk There are ways of being honest, there are ways saying a player is not for sale and there are ways of saying 'offers please'.
Our players will always be for sale for the right price and to the right club. I think it would be unrealistic for any represenatative of the club to he is not for sale outright as that would not be the case. I think the one thing that the club always have to do with any dealings is to be seen to be a good and as much as possible ethical club with players and staff. PLayers need to want to play for us for as long as possible but as HJ said we cant expect to be able to keep said players. The idea is to try to attract young upcoming players from abroad as well as UK and offer them the platform of playing in the PL. Get as much out of them while we have them and then get as much money for them as possible when the big guns come knocking
Bob's got a point. Language tries to be neutral but with a leaning towards somebody please make a bid.
Disagree. Jenkins is just being honest in saying that he's our player unless the right club come in with the right offer.
Why do some poeple look to twist every word that comes out of the Club? For ****'s sake - Jenkins was only saying the truth. If you thnk that Rodgers, Wenger et al will think the Club's position has somehow changed following that interview then you're wrong. This is a guy who scored a lot of goals last season. Goes without saying he'll attract interest regardless of what anyone says, including the Chairman.
That's true of every club. Even the best in the world sell players when the right offer comes along. Nothing at all wrong with that. Buy low, sell high. It's the sensible thing to do. If you didn't do it you'd be a much poorer club.
Exactly so his language isnt saying anything other than what other clubs already know. No hidden meaning just straight up answers. What is the alternative answer? No Bony is not for sale no matter who or the price? lets be real here as Valley said those that are interested already have a figure in mind and if anything HJ has clarified that we will decide on whether that price is right for us and the player. He has also emphasised that if you are not a CL club dont bother.
I actually Think huw played a blinder There myself. The key phrase is " with tje right offer" basically pay the going rate and be a Champions league club. Nothing wrong with that at all. Bony knows his NeXT move Will also be a make or break one so he Will also need to Think carefully, any club notwilling to lay out serious cash obviously wont rate him as a serious option,it Will mean they Arnt quite sure IMO , plenty of food for thought.
It's strange that there have been no offers though, not even anybody sniffing around. We all saw what he did shrugging of strong, quality defenders last season like they were nothing, solid defending at the near post on set plays, and the goals he scored. He started slow, but adjusted very well. He has a track record in the Prem, one season but a good one to back up his previous stellar output in the Dutch League. We'd all hate to see him go. Yet Arsenal went to Barca to get Sanchez for big money and other clubs are bringing in players that don't have Bony's scoring record and are unproven in the Prem. I'd hate to see anybody actually make a bid. But I find it strange that nobody hasn't.
