Given the interest he looks to be on his way, a player desparate to leave and a club he can't get first team action in.
If Harry thought he would make the grade in the PL we wouldn't be selling him. Also, it's telling that no PL club appears to be coming in for him. The fee that's being bandied about would bring him into the reach of practically every PL club.
Posted it on here yesterday, SSS. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/59108-Dos-Santos-Does-He-Suit-Our-Current-System Here it is again, though: WARNING: TLFW (Too Load For Work)
He clearly has a lot of ability, but only showed in in firts and starts - and it wasn't helped that, when he finally had a chance to get back in the side, he promptly got injured.
You need to have a warning with that video to turn your PC volume off. I'm getting some funny stares right now
It'll be interesting to see how he does when he finally gets a regular run of first team football - something that never happened at Tottenham
Fixed. It's a South American commentator on an Arabic channel. Pretty sure that you should expect commentary of a goal to be a bit load, though.
It wasn't so much the volume as the weird way he was shouting goal. I'm used to get odd stares from my colleagues though :-(
I haven't seen enough of him to form an opinion. However, it's pretty obvious that Harry doesn't like him, or doesn't rate him. So, that's him out the door. Also, I think I read somewhere that Levy was holding out for £6mm from Sevilla.
Sun most likley here: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3660385/Harry-Dos-deal-for-Gios-Spurs-exit.html Is a fantastic goal from him above btw!
I saw a good comparison the other day when someone said there's not much technically between him and Chicarito. What separates them is the hunger to play and the desire to succeed in the PL. Its the difference between a top player and an above average player. There's little doubt in my mind Gio will do well in Spanish and International football, we've seen it many times before that these two things do not guarantee success in our league.
I think you are very unlikely to succeed anywhere nowadays without that hunger in your belly. The problems for a lot of foreign players are, the physicality of the English game, and the pace - You're not going to be allowed anywhere near the time on the ball that they are maybe used to where they come from. Some adapt - Some don't!
I'm not sure how we're supposed to assess Dos Santos' ability to adjust to the English game without having seen him get a run in the team, though. He did well at Ipswich and there's been discussions on their board longing for a return for him, so I'd suggest that the physical nature of the game might not be a problem for him.
You could be right, PNP. Like you, I have not seen anywhere near enough of Dos Santos to form an opinion. However, as I've already said, Harry doesn't seem to like him, for whatever reason.
