I find it funny that they would call us a joke of a team. They are hardly know for their football team. Hope their chairman piss over what history they have.
I think this is the crux of the problem, they don't know who they really are and to whether they coming or going. For crying out aloud, even the owner of the club doesn't know what name to call themselves, how the hell are their fans to know what they are ...... Besides being deluded of course.
Grifter is talking crap . I wouldn't be suprised if he is known for it on here As a HULL CITY fanatic why would I dislike or like QPR. Neither of our clubs have a history of winning Things Both sets of fans have had some **** times Grifter just came on the Hull board coming out with garbage about Hull being nothing but a **** hole That's not true . Course there is some **** bits but that can be said about anywhere including London . He also claims Yorkshire is a **** hole... Yes some places are...but there's some beautiful scenic places and a great coast line We don't hate your fans or your club ...why would we . Would be good if all the promoted teams stayed up and Hull City of course . Good luck for the coming season let's hope we both have a good one Ps It's glory hunting people born in Hull who support Man Utd / Liverpool / Chelsea I don't like Credit to all long time supporters of QPR for not jumping on the BIGGER club teams
Fair play TigerFiley, I've nothing against Hull either and think you've been going about building a good team with very little fanfare for a while now and will do well.
Fair post mate - I dont mind Hull the club or the city - got a few mates up there, including Ehab Allam coincidentally, who I guess may or may not be popular with some of you.
To be fair, we probably do have the worse ground in the Premier League. Who else has a death trap hole next to the goal, I wonder if Van Persie will be more cautious this season! Knowing just how much the Hull fans hate the term Tigers, make sure we call them that.
I might be wrong but I think it's more down to the game at our place when Cook got himself sent off for dissent after we made a comeback to win 2-1. The theatrics from your players that day wouldn't have looked out of place in Platoon and were combined with whinging like **** to the referee whenever you weren't given a freekick or at least an Oscar nomination for a dive. There was one of your fans who lived in Hull at the time who did a match report on the old official website messageboard where he was basically saying how embarrassing the performance was because of it and completely debunking the tripe version of events your manager had given in interviews and that the OWS had included in it's match report. That's certainly the time I first started hearing the term, obviously Taarabt having a tantrum on the pitch and demanding he be subbed because a team mate didn't pass him the ball hardly helped matters. As far as the opening day game and our view of your fans reaction to the chanting goes, we had more of an issue Dermot Gallagher's refereeing after I think it was Furlong shoved our fullback into the advertising boards whilst the ball was out of play, dislocating his knee after about 45 seconds of the game and him going unpunished for a "challenge" even your manager wasn't happy with and said he would have to have words with him about. Being upset about the chants wouldn't be likely to cause the nickname from most of us, even being in one of the "louder" sections of the ground when we found out what it was that had been sung we were disgusted (so few people involved that we couldn't hear them 2 blocks down where normally we hear everything they're singing, ignore the press reports, even your fans at the game said it was about 20-30 people involved an that the media were making up extra things we were meant to have sang). There was also the matter of groups of your fans physically attacking fans including families in the car park after the game, but I wouldn't have thought that misplacing your anger onto the wrong fans was responsible for the nickname either, not when we've got a record for dealing with our own offenders in a similar manner*. *When we first got the ground the chavvy teenagers thought it was clever to brick the opposition coaches as they left the ground. The second or third time it was happening a couple of our older fans just walked up to them and gave them a clout and told them to stop it and we didn't have it happen again.
How am I talking crap? I provided a sample of quotes from a thread titled "tickets for the dramas" Your fans slated our club and stadium needlessly; am I supposed to be all sweetness and light? I made one throwaway comment about your town whilst citing this article http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4136342.stm, and now you've got your knickers in a twist. The thread's died- everything's been patched up. Let it lie!
I was at the "bombers" game, it was a lot more than 20-30 fans but by no means alot - most of our fans missed it. I was on the left hand side, where - for some reason - there were a load of Millwall fans in with us (they'd played Leeds on the Friday). It was the only piece of action during an other wise boring game - most of our fans decide to watch the second test against Australia in the bar. I never saw or heard of any bother after the game either. I always assumed that where the DQPR came from though - not bothered by it either, its just banter
The 20-30 was just what one of your fans at the game posted on a messageboard after it. From where I was I couldn't tell how many it was, and the first we knew of anything was the reaction from your end. Either way though, the way the press covered it afterwards you'd think the whole place had been singing their hearts out on that chant and the 3 or 4 others they made up. When one of the papers involved was challenged about a couple of them their response was "my reporter said he heard it so it's the truth" despite none of your fans having heard the chants in question (the additional made up ones, not the ones that actually did happen). The bother after the game was a similarly small number of people, I don't think we'd have even been talking about it if they'd got the right people other than to say well done. It was the fact that rather than doing that they were instead scaring the **** out women and children coming out of the stand to your right rather than the gobby twats in the stand to your left that had been responsible. Not really worth going over it too much though, such a small number on either side I've only mentioned them because it's why I don't think it's the reason behind the nickname. Could be a lot worse as well, Scunthorpe fans are known as the Scunts. I once got collared on a Huddersfield forum for using it until I pointed out that even the Scunny staff used the term on their forum.
"Worst ground in the PL by far now." Hard to argue with that. Never mind the oiks from the Humber, we R's fans deserve a better match day experience. Come on Tone, time to get the boys round to the Car Giant bloke and have a word in his shell-like.
If you were that enraged by the antics of our players in a team that included the likes of Martin Rowlands/Marc Bircham etc, I dread to think how you react now that your playing in the Premier League.
You don't need to be enraged by a team diving around to give them a daft nickname to mock the way they're acting. Having said that, I am quite animated when referees fall for the worst examples imaginable. Cleverley last year when he got crunched by Bruce was entertaining for it though. Running after the ref to complain and the ref just shrugging his shoulders and telling him it was a clean tackle.
I think 'Drama Queens Park Rangers' is a rather witty and lighthearted insult. And that was before we had Mbia attempting the major scenes from king Lear every week.
I have no worries about Hull 1904. (Nice badge!). I have plenty of banter at work and the pub with City fans. To say our ground is sh***e when they had Boothferry Park before the council gave them the KC to use is a bit rich. Agree with Filey too many glory hunters in Hull supporting Manu, Liverpool and now f***ing Chelski. Loads of respect for the those who have not jumped on the bandwagon and followed City when they were really s**t. Anyway role on the 16th and 3 points
But you just mentioned that that's where the nickname stemmed from? That coupled with the fact you still remember the exact game clearly tells me that your still riled somewhat, but hey ho. And yeah it falls both ways to be honest, and it does baffle me how some referees are still conned so easily. Having said that, some players reputations clearly don't help themselves in certain situations, so bad tackles go unpunished. Such a fine line
I understand the annoyance re diving. Ashley Young going down and getting Sean Derry sent off still makes me annoyed if I remember it...
Now that dull city or as their owner would like them to be called dull tigers are managed by mr loyalty himself and are trying to buy half the Tottenham squad that in itself is good enough reason not to like them. KC stadium indeed kfc bargain bucket if you ask me.
