JM blasts United for paying a 19 year old £130k a week. Shaw obviously wanted to join Chelsea if we had offered close to wages parity, but you can't blame the lad when United offered him double the wages. Rooney 300k, Shaw £130k a week. Crazy “If we pay to a 19-year-old boy what we were being asked for, to sign Luke Shaw, we are dead,” he said. “We would have killed our stability with financial fair play and killed the stability in our dressing room. “Because when you pay that much to a 19-year-old kid – a good player, fantastic player – but when you pay that amount of money, the next day, we would have had players knocking on our door. “They would have been saying, ‘How is it possible I play 200 games for this club, won this and that, yet a 19-year-old comes here and gets more money than I get?’ “It would’ve killed immediately our balance and we couldn’t allow that. I don’t criticise another club for paying it. They can pay what they want. I don’t have any comment about it. But for my club we can say it would be very negative for us, especially when we can say Felipe is much less expensive. Sometimes you have to make decisions.” http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jul/26/jose-mourinho-chelsea-luke-shaw-wages
**** him, he's obviously not much of a fan if he chose United due to the fact they offered him a few extra quid a week. Jose is 100% spot on.
In the artical i read quoting Jose a figure of £100k was guessed at. Keep looking, you may find one that guesses £400k then you could really have a go http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28498546 Mourinho says Shaw's reported wages of around £100,000 a week were too large. "If we pay to a 19-year-old boy what we were being asked for, to sign Luke Shaw, we are dead," said Mourinho. When did Jose have to start worrying about this FFP lark anyway, it`s not right, the poor man has enough to worry about. You should all tell Roman to get his wallet out
Of course he`s not as fan of Chelsea. It is every players childhood dream to play for whatever team they think will buy them next (and i am talking about United players too).
Indeed, while we insist in having this infatuation with fat boy Rooney and Woy we won't ever win **** all
Let's be honest, Jose has had the good fortune to throw money around for the majority of his managerial career so this interview just makes him look like a bitter twat. I suspect most of the Chelsea players on lower wages than Torres wonder why he's paid more than they are regardless of how old he is. Age doesn't come into it, the simple fact is he's ****e and is paid a shed load of money to miss sitters.
100k or 130k, the wages are ****ing mental even by football standards. Shows how utter desperate United are to get back amongst it and I'm glad we didn't bow down. Good luck to the lad but this would never have happened in Fergie's day. The only player who held United to ransom over wages was Rooney and to be fair, he had earned it at the time.
It's a statement of intent from the ******s at old toilet. Buying below average talent and overpaying them as another way of saying - "notice us notice us notice us be afraid of us we don't need CL" also the van gaal hype needs to stop. He's won titles in holland, hardly an achievement.
Torres wages and transfer fee are a great example of how not to buy players. RA learned the hard way. If you are going to **** up, leave it to an expert. Shaw is another big **** up they are now stuck with.
LVG is a very good manager. But so was Moyes. LVG has won more, and is used to being at bigger clubs, so you have to think he will improve things somewhat. But United main problem last season was the fact that their squad needed new blood. An ageing back four, a non existent midfield and an injured RVP, left Rooney to try rescue the season single handed, which was never gonna work. Plus Fellaini turned out to be w*nk. LVG seems to be making signings, so again, you have to think they will do better this season.
Well I think the Shaw deal was a f**k up to be honest, just like our Torres deal was. Far too much for such a young unproven lad. What are they going to do in 3 years time when he wants a new deal? Up his wages to 180k per week? Even for a 22 year old thats ridiculous, and this is supposing that he turns into the player he had the potential to become, if he doesnt, they are stuck with a dud on inflated wages who they wont be able to get rid of, just like us with Torres.
I was referring to the comment about Van Gaal winning titles in Holland and that it wasn't anything to brag about. Either the poster is clueless or a moron.
Not sure who Rainbow Jeremy is to be honest. I know he is banned from the United board, so he has some kind of United bug up his anoose. So I wouldnt pay much attention.
