Jay and his team have played Saints, I mean fair play to them from their personal view, but it reeks for us. March - Poch speaks to Jay's family about wanting him at Spurs April - Jay suffers serious injury, tearing his ACL May - Mauricio's departure is confirmed May - Jay's dad follows Spurs on Twitter June - Joins Twitter, his account is clearly run by a PR firm - only the odd tweet sounds like him June - Interview on SSN where the strained key point is 'Poch is the best manager I have worked with' July - Rodriguez returns to being able to join in with running drills, as well as swimming and regularly doing lots of gym work July - Rodriguez's agents leak news of new contract offer to get Spurs to speed up their approach And anytime now, he'll join up with them. It's been in the making for some time.
Remember Leeds in 2003, singing "what the fook is going on"? Actually loved their fans a little bit for that. Then at 3-0 down they started on that "we all loove Leeds" chant. Could do with some of that spirit from our supporters this season.
Rumours our end is that the deal for him and Schneiderlin combined is circa £30m with both already having agreed personal teams, though that's not been confirmed by any major source. You're right in what you say about Levy though, he wouldn't sanction that amount for a guy who won't be fit until October/ November (I believe?), which is why I think the rumours of the combined £30m may not be too far off the mark. For what it's worth I do feel really sorry for you guys, it's not a nice position to be in when losing key assets, we've had a number of ours stripped from us over the years but what you're experiencing is on a completely new level, I don't think I can recall a time where a club who were under no financial pressure decided to agree to the sales of a number of key players, it really is bizarre even if the profits are fantastic. I appreciate the ideology of selling players who no longer want to play for the club but there has to be a point where the club stands firm and that point is far overdue for you guys in my opinion.
You're welcome to Rose. From my point of view £30m would be about right, I'd value both around the £15m mark though I can fully understand that as players of your club, you'd value them much higher, all fans do that and we're no different, unless it comes to Danny Rose, in this instance I'd value him at -£5m, meaning we'd pay any sod just to take him off us. I wouldn't be surprised if you guys looked at some of ours CM's, Schneiderlin's arrival would spell the end of for one, possibly two of: Dembele, Paulinho, Sandro, Holtby, Carroll.
I like Holtby & Dembele. Holtby could probably double up as a wide player as well as at the top of midfield. Sadly it probably won't happen but Classie would not be a bad alternative.
I honestly can't believe 30m is being talked about as a combined fee for Jay and Morgan! They are worth at least 20m each and if anybody thinks differently then they should bugger off and not buy them. It's bad enough the fact that two of our best players seem to be joining our ex-manager at one of my most hated clubs, let alone not being paid the right amount for them!
£30M for Jay & Morg, **** right off, its **** at the mo, but no buy one get one free you cheeky bugger!
What will our style of football actually be? New manager and by the sounds of it 7 less regular players from the nice style we had last season.
I could say the same for Capoue, Dembele, Paulinho and Sandro... As I said, when looking at your own players you'll value them much higher. Needs to be appreciated - and I'm not WUMming here - that your team finished 8th, yet you're selling players for prices of Champions League quality, which shows fantastic financial business on your part but if these player were legitimately £20m-£25m in terms of talent, you'd have finished easily top 5 and possibly top 4. We only sold Modric for £8m more than your valuation of Schneiderlin and with all due respect, Modric is worth far more than an extra £8m. It boils down to how much the paying club are willing to pay and how reluctant the selling club are to sell. You guys were under no financial pressure, thus meaning any player sold would be for a premium. Schneiderlin is very good but I think suggesting he's £25m good is OTT. Though, and I state again, when it's your own players, you're always going to add an extra valuation on top to what you would of a similar calibre play of a rival club. I wouldn't rule it out SFTW, Holtby is a cult hero at the club due to his fantastic determination and passion for the badge but ultimately, his performances on the pitch haven't really reached the level we know he can be at - and he is a fantastic player when he wants to be. I'm not sure how Poch views Holtby because seeing as we have Eriksen who plays in his favoured role, it's hard to find a place for him in the starting XI unless he plays deeper, so if a guaranteed first team football switch to you guys is something he's presented with I'm sure he'd definitely consider it.
Haha don't say that! We're actually optimistic that we've signed a proper coach after going two seasons with clueless twats in charge!
Yeah but these people are serial manipulators, they will do the same thing when the oppuntunity arises again.
Your twat got 6 points from our proper coach. (Although it was rather fortunate both times I have to add)
