I said I wouldn't hate Snyderlyn (not even going to spell his name right now), but I do. Every single one of them should get tapeworms, beri beri, head lice and gangrene. Rickie can get away with a mild bout of flu.
Again don't know if already posted but another target goes elsewhere Total Dutch Football @TotalDutchFB Finally some good news for #Feyenoord - young defender Terence Kongolo has extended his contract until 2017
Just keep telling yourselves these are all individual cases of players being tempted away by cash, guys. Don't read anything else into it, like that there might be something wrong behind the scenes driving them out or anything silly like that.
There may well be a problem? Who knows or it could be part of the new plan? Not one of the players we have sold has been worth what we sold them for!
Easily possible. Jay's game relies a lot on pace and quick movement, and it's not exactly uncommon for an ACL tear to noticeably reduce that kind of stuff despite recovery.
I've made my stance on this pretty clear but I'll say it again. Pochettino - Spurs Rodriguez - Spurs Schneiderlin - Spurs Lovren - Liverpool Lallana - Liverpool Lambert - Liverpool Shaw - United Chambers - Arsenal Not one has gone to a 'similar' or 'lesser' club. My belief remains that NC was huge for these guys and when he left, Poch followed and the felt they needed to get out. I referenced it in my earlier piece, and it's up to people to decide if they agree or not - I'm not offended by it. But my understanding is that the club was built around NC and it effectively became a house of cards the moment that his presence was removed from SFC. We've had our best ever PL season and they can't see it going further without NC and MP - and nor can I, not for a fair share of time, anyway. If Fonte heads to Cardiff, Davis off to Leicester, Yoshida off to a similar or lesser club - I'd **** my pants. But as it stands, my view is that they're all heading to bigger clubs, with more prestige, history and fans - which also means bigger salaries.
And that's why we haven't got a new manager of good calibre to come in for Poch and already have spent almost £20 million......Oh.
The only thing wrong at Saints is that we made them look good and they left as soon as big clubs came in for them waving wads of cash. They were followers of the cult of Nicola (which got us back to the EPL) and have no loyalty to us whatsoever. Should we have expected any? Yes, it would be reasonable to expect a few to stick together and rebuild the team. The glue that built a strong team and gave us success actually cut the fans out from their thinking. Damn all of them.
To be honest I'm past caring about last years team. We were told they were good enough for a European place. They weren't. They failed. As a Saints fan I could forgive that because they gave their best but for some strange reason they think they deserve more, even though they did not work hard enough for it here. For that reason alone I hope they have a strong lesson in humility but in truth I won't lose sleep either way. All I want to see is 11 players pulling on that shirt on 17 August with pride. Pride in playing for Saints and maybe a wee bit of loyalty to the fans who, in a small way pay much more they can afford to support them and keep them in a very luxurious lifestyle.
Hope we built in a small explosive device should he leave us...I'll press the detonator if you like as soon as the money clears the bank.
*You're And it could surely be that it's bad enough behind the scenes that players want to leave but not so bad that they'll run to lesser teams. I think it's pretty fair to suggest that a lot of these players could have been convinced to stay if Southampton was a nicer place to be right now.
