Good Morning Everyone, A last gasp penalty from Austin in the dying minutes was enough to spare our blushes at the weekend against an average Chesterfield side. According to reports we lacked idea's, fire power up front and frequently lost possession, and with the season less than two weeks away, these six further signings we have been promised seem a distant dream. The Viviani deal may be back on, as long as Cellino does not interfere. The fiery Italian lost his rag on Friday claiming that the deal was dead, only for our director of football Salerno to come to the rescue. Talks will continue today, though if he does not sign today, I cannot see it happening. Some of the Elland Road faithful were shouting abuse at Morison on Saturday! Was it justified? He was just doing as he was told, play on the wing... We are targeting AC Milan midfielder Zan Benedicic. The 18-year-old is looking for first-team football and the Serie A side are happy to loan out the attacking midfielder, according to Sky Sports News. Benedicic has represented Slovenia at Under-21 level and has been largely tipped to be a future star.
Morning Elland - I was very hopeful things would pick up for us when the season finished. So far we have brought in three outfield players who couldn't make the starting line up and we have lost our leading scorer, pre-season we are looking poor and I am feeling very fed-up and disillusioned with the team. On paper the start of the season has a few matches where we should pick up points, in reality I believe we are there for the taking.
Morning ristac, a few good signings willhopefully install a bit more confidence in the forthcoming season
We only have two weeks Elland, we are only linked with two unknown youngsters who might find it very hard to adapt, they are going to need time and match fitness, something we are now running out of. Look at our starting 11, throw in Vivani if we get him and we still look there for the taking IMHO
Cellino has never said he building for promotion this season,so he will be looking to strengthen the team by the transfer window closure date not for the first game.
Lose our first 3 games and we will be sitting bottom and the season will be one long relegation fight. Honestly I can't believe I am the only person who see's us as relegation fodder as it stands. Bookies are never far from being wrong, we are third joint favourites for relegation. We have a weaker squad than last season and that is saying something
Morning all. Whoever we get in, it will take time for them to gel with the rest of the squad. So we can't expect instant miracles. That we started with more or less the same team that was involved last year and we struggled against an average team is cause for some concern. If we start badly against the 'Wall in a couple of weeks time, the abuse Morison got will be as nothing to the abuse the team will get. On incomings, the sooner we get our players in, the dross out and the Hock can start to mould the team the better.
I must admit my attitude is starting to dive, I am usually on the up until I watch the first game, but I will be going tomorrow night expecting the worst.
We have 1 position weaker than last season. The same team were top half, before the none paying of wages and other distractions, and new players will improve the team as they adapt to English football. We've had 10 years of quick fix rushed signings it didn't work and here we are again demanding the same.
Another thing... He isn't building for the future either as the better players we are trying to sign are loans, forget this loan with a view to signing, parent clubs are making it clear it is a one year loan and they expect their players to feature and play. We have no depth, the inclusion of Morsion and White have proved this, striker we have lost 30 goals and take from December onwards, we were relegation form and material, we were higher the first half of the season playing the likes of Brown, Green and Peltier, what does that tell us?
Morning all It doesn't take a blind man to recognise that some of the players selected on Saturday (Playing our strongest 11?) are shyte and need offing. I feel sorry for Morison but he's never done anything since arriving. Hunt, Morison and the ilk need moving on to get them off the wage book. Until we get rid of dross we will never bring in better quality. Does White deserve yet another chance? I would say not so what was he doing as part of our 'strongest 11'. Beginning to think the Hock is clueless and will be long gone by the end of August
Goalkeeper,Right back,Midfielder all bought for the future, but you only see the loan we havent even made.
I agree ristac, we are poorer on the pitch and poorer in the coaching department. like him or not bmd was far superior to the hock. I think we need to get off to a strong start or it will be a really long slog. I do wonder why MC would buy leeds then not invest in the team. it can't be to sell off assets as there are none, and even the 11 million for McCormack goes nowhere near covering what he has put in (reportedly). I am therefore clinging on to the hope that he will bring some players in. In my opinion we need to look for two experienced centre halves a creative midfielder and two strikers

Morning all I'm firmly in the worried camp as well. At the moment i'm looking for teams weaker than us that will prop up the rest of the league. Blackpool and Millwall are standing out, but that third spot could be one of a few teams. We have no width, the diamond doesnt work and we will need Smith to have a blinding season as he's the best we have up top and I cant see where the service is coming from. Two weeks to make some signings that are going to improve the first team, but then I still worry about the coaching/tactics side of the game. I'd take a boring mid table finish right now!
No one is 100% happy with signings so far, but we've got rid of a lot of crap, lost 1 good player and our new keeper and right back looked promising on sat.Cellino said he's not going to try the quick fix failures of the past and to give him 2 seasons. So far the first 1 has not even started. Look at millwall so far they've signed an Electrician and a failed youth player off the dole.and the fools are happy.
Morning all Have to say I have my doubts at the moment too. Yes we've brought some players in who I imagine will become part of the strongest XI unless they really are worse than those who were out there on Saturday. We have brought players in, but we haven't addressed the problem areas. We need a new CB at the very least to sort the defence out, we simply can't leak goals as we did last season. We've spoken at length about the shocking lack of width in the side over the last year or so, and to be honest unless we add a bit of creativity upfront (i.e. not Morison and Hunt) we'll be struggling to replace Ross' goals. I wasn't expecting a promotion push this year. I really did believe when Cellino said that he meant it. However, we need to make sure we have enough about us not only to survive this season, but to provide a platform to add quality to going into next season to give us the edge to kick on. We can't make wholesale changes two seasons in a row and expect that to result in promotion.
If we suddenly splashed out £10m on five quality signings it wouldn't make any difference while Hockaday and Junior are 'coaching' the team. It would be like feeding caviar to pigs. The sooner the hapless duo are gone the better
