Ake replaced Luis at LB - what is Bertrand doing? Zouma was solid and got our second goal. Should have got our 3rd with an amazing header - but for a decent save. Costa did what he does and got a decent goal from Cescy's assist. Nando did what he does and missed gaping goal from 2 yards - great cross from Ake (it was little too fast perhaps). 2-1 Blues !!
Torres surely is off after Drogba came back, that miss was horrible! You're right about zouma, I think he could come in and grow into a wc defender- he just has something about him. Pretty good game and im just looking forwards to seeing more of this amazing team. great recap here btw stan!!
I was impressed with Fabregas, he showed off a great range of passing from deep position. Costa showed great strikers instinct for is goal after being kept quiet for most of it. Torres was Torres. Boga and Brown looked pretty decent in the first half.
Fabregas looked really good. Played some good passes from deep. Costa's finish was nice, can tell he's been on form cause it was just a confident finish. One chance one goal, just what we want. Also, i've always thought Ake was a CB but he's been playing LB a lot in pre season and thought he looked good in the second half, maybe he'll be part of the first team squad again this season as cover for Filipe? I couldn't work out why that third goal got disallowed? Was it a foul or did they end up deciding it didn't cross the line? My commentary wasn't English so i couldn't understand!
Unfortunately - Torres has no value & suitors, on the other hand Lukaku has few suitors -Most likely Lukaku would be off. Zouma should definitely be an upgrade over Luiz - if he settles in quickly. Ref missed Ivan's Goal - which did cross the line and adjudged JT's subsequent goal attempt as foul. It was crazy. but did you see Kurt's header for that? wow.. Kid's reflexes were awesome in front of goal.
Boga has a touch of the Michael Essiens about him, looks a very good kid. Zouma excellent, Fabregas a cut above.
