Tbh, they shouldn't have given it to them in the first place. Uncivilised scruffy country ran by militia men and drug barons where crime is rife. Can't imagine many football fans wanting to go there.

If they can sell - sorry - award (LOL) the world cup to Qatar, then why not Russia?

Its about time we rose above the mire and left FIFA anyway.

Politics and sport should never mix. However, greed is all encompassing.
Blatter isn't a fat ****, just a greedy **** and it's his money belt hiding all the brown envelopes stuffed under his jacket.
Clegg should just shut up or join that other inept, impotent political party, FIFA!

Maybe these people should get hard facts that Russia had anything to do with mh17 before opening their mouths. They may just find that the Ukrainians are the guilty party. The Ukrainians have previous for such things.

You'll look stupid when the truth comes out. What facts do you have that there was Russian involvement? NONE

FYI the Ukrainian shot down a Russian passenger plane in 2001. The us shot down an Iranian plane... Both denied involvement the Americans still won't compensate the Ukrainians did eventually but haven't paid up yet! http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-28361223. fact!

Stop reading CNN, take your head out of your arse and start understanding facts!

So do the Russians, if you're using your BBC article as 'fact'.......

No-one other than those with the military intel, or the guilty party, knows who shot the plane down.

I never heard much complaining from these politicians when the world cup was awarded to Brazil despite the known fact regarding children living rough on the streets were being exterminated..

Definitely a case of selective political involvement..Russia is by no means whiter than white, but are by no means the worst in our increasingly dangerous world.

Russia might not be directly involved with it, but if the rebels shot it down it is highly likely they did it with a missile supplied by the Russia (the Russian government).

You might be right that Russians in general are less trigger happy than American's, but you cannot deny that Putin's government is pretty corrupt and Putin would do anything to increase Russia's political and military power,

It is almost certainly a Russian missile that was involved, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the Russian government have supplied the rebels. The Ukraine armed forces have been almost exclusively supplied by Russia ever since it was given independence, and now that many Eastern Ukrainians, including members of the armed forces have declared their intentions to break away from the west, many of those weapons will have ended up in their possession.

If the Russians being the operative word. The press here have had Russia hung, drawn and quartered in the past week. The Ukrainians are loose cannons, with previous. Even some American political commentators are questioning them now.

Every government in the East of Europe is corrupt. Don't think for 1 second that the poles are less corrupt then the Russians and we give them 8 billion a year to squander and steal. Russia is a nuclear power it doesn't need to flex its conventional weapons muscle. I've no idea where this Putin is a megalomaniac ideas come from. The Russians believe me are not communists anymore. They are a country full of coca cola and Levi's and people live like people do in the west. I have Russian friends who are the same as us.... The eu is the communist power... Full of Marxist that nobody is trying to stop.
