Another dream purchase for me would be to have a juke box. Being something of a philistine I'm not particularly bothered about owning an original Wurlitzer, I'd prefer to be able to play CDs rather than vinyl - but having something that looks the part appeals. Unfortunately, I have neither the space nor a sympathetic spouse. What I have got, however, is the Brennan (http://www.brennan.co.uk) which is a very simple to operate MP3 player. I clearly fit well inside the 'old fart' demographic as I read recently that the hip young things use something called an 'eye pod' to play their music.
Ok, so im a bit of a gadget/techy freak. not total nerd but love a gdget or 2. My eldest is full on nerd and we were watching a re-run of the Gadget Show a few weeks ago and saw the best one yet. There is a remote control helicopter (about 12 in in length) that can be controlled via and ap using your brain waves and concenration....Brilliant! the harder you concentrate, the faster the motors turn. We then spent hours scouring the net to find one...no luck Anyway, like i say..not a complete full on nerd but defo a gadget geek
Not the same but similar
Now I'm not into gadgets, but this looks great fun, albeit that it set you back about a grand. [You'll only cry once! ] The Plantom 2 Vision. http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-2-vision
Now that is awesome, Sku. I love something like that, although not sure 'er at No. 14 with the plastic tits would be too pleased.
I'm not actually sure whether this will happen (or even if it's technologically possible!) but it looks real cool....
Projecting the keyboard image is one thing, but can't see how it would be possible to get the input back to the phone.
In a similar vein to the drones etc.
My favourite gadget is my Panasonic BluRay recorder. MOTD recorded in HD on the hard drive then edited for the QPR bits and archived onto BluRay. Fantastic home videos - mainly of the grandchildren and holidays - similarly archived. I love my HTC One - cant stand Apple and their stand alone attitude (no USB etc). Great for photos though I have to concede the latest iPhone camera is probably better than the HTC.
Here's a pen for you, Stan, but probably one best kept apart from your watch... http://www.red5.co.uk/gadgets/polar-pen-large.aspx
I gotta get me one of these...
"Shark Week at Cooch Creek"... classic!
Cheers Ubes, natty looking gizmo which will **** up your watch, smartphone, any hotel key cards you may be carrying and will doubtless get you detained for the full body cavity search at airports. I'm trying to think of the appropriate person to 'gift' it too, in another corruption of our language.
The market looked upon this more kindly than my prototype, which I called 'The Mallet'... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-28550061
I have the same attitude to Apple, and couldn't be without my Samsung S5...I use the Not606 app constantly, as I try to stay away from my laptop at home (fed up looking at it all day at work!) I'm awaiting delivery of an XBMC box for my tv - a small box that connects to TV HDMI and to wifi. It's android powered, and is supposed to have an app that allows you to stream live football-has all the PL games so ideal for this season. Also has all new movie releases. Once I've got it and given it a test, will write a review and post it on here - will be good for all overseas guys too as it works anywhere!
An acquaintance of mine pitched some new software to Apple last year which he said automatically turned users into sanctimonious and pompous arseholes, but Apple turned it down as they felt it replicated their core operating system.
