...... Southampton supporters were all over this board boasting about how far ahead of Sunderland they were. "Fantastic manager, flying in the league, world class players coming through, wonderful owner ....... you could only just beat our reserves " Yeah well **** you lot, your club's going to **** and the owner's mopping up the money. Ben Smith @BenSmithBBC I'm told Arsenal want Morgan Schneiderlin AND Callum Chambers from Southampton. Spurs have also made an enquiry for Jay Rodriguez
It really is a fine balance isn't it? We all wish for a successful season and to bring through a good group of young players, but for the "bigger" clubs to then come in and poach the majority of your successful squad must be pretty annoying. We have been getting slightly frustrated at the lack of incoming transfers, but I think I'd prefer to be in our situation - it's not like we lost our best players (despite what them up the road might want us to believe).
They are left with gaston ramires and thats about it, ****ing wierd when they are supposed to be loaded
Already lost Lambert, Lallana, Shaw and Pochettino Lovren is going, Chambers is going, interest in Schneiderlin and Rodriguez. They've just had a fantastic season and their team is now being ripped apart, it's sad
Indeed. Not sure how much of the income will be spent on new players. Spurs found it hard to just replace one player (albeit he was quite good), even with a wad of cash, so it remains to be seen what Southampton do.
Let's see where we are at the start of the season. Liverpool have paid way over the odds as have Arsenal. Ron didn't join to fight relegation. We've goot more youth to come through as well.
It does look, like Nordic says, as if the owners are cashing in though mate, you must see that? The removal of Cortese seemed strange from the outside, but he was briliant at what he was doing and seemed whole hearted in his ambition to build a side, seems it was a tactical by the board to me, regardless of what statements came out of the club and from Cortese.
In just over a month! I'd be bricking it if i were a saints fan, why sell all your players when you are one of the wealthiest clubs in england?? It just doesnt make sense, aye 1 or 2 may wish to leave but all of that lot?
It a difficult position for you lot. So many teams interested in overpaying for your players, every players has a price, you'd be daft not to accept it, but with there being so many players leaving you've got a rebuild on your hands. Long term it's great, short term a bit tricky. What's the record for profit on players sales in a season? Bet you're going to take that record.
If you aren't scrimping transfers don't take two months mate. That's just us, not the rest of the world. They only need half a dozen players in that time. We probably only need a couple less than them.
Who are they gonna spend that money on though? Could be hard to convince players of any ambition if they're selling all their best players
No idea mate. That's Koeman's job though. Bear in mind a lot of players don't need ambition as long as they have premier league to begin with though. Can't imagine the lads signing for us are looking for much more than that.
The owner seems uninterested though and I seem to recall the family sinking loads into the club, may be 'cash in' time. I don't have a shred of sympathy for Southampton supporters. They were on their high horse, doing a 'Hull' last season, and thinking they were twice the club Sunderland is. I really tired of their arrogance and now they're taking a hit ....... well boo-****ing-hoo
