Match abandoned after Maccabi Haifa players attacked in 'friendly'. Only a matter of time before someone is killed... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-pro-Palestinian-protestors-invade-pitch.html
Out of interest, what are people's views on the Israel/Palestine situation? Must say I'm getting very bored of my facebook being clogged up with propaganda from both sides.
Spot on about Facebook and, as you say, from both sides. A lot of the noise from both camps seems to be "well yeah we did some things you might not like but have you seen what they've done?"
Is John Hartson on holiday out there????? All joking aside they are horrific pictures, think it may be an idea to shut the bloody league down until further notice.
They're arguing over a land area the size of Wales. The logical move would be to give one side Wales.
That's a bit sadistic isn't it?! Maybe give them all West ham season tickets till they see some sense.
Big Sam would sort this **** out. Karen Brady would try and negotiate for the Israelis and probably lose Jerusalem. Then maybe both sides could have a go on her and get all that frustration out and put an end to this. Not sure what Peschisolido would say.
It's a nightmare and I have no idea what should or could be done about it. I find it depressing even to think about, let alone watch news reports on it. There's another thread running with comment on it, the "Joey giving it large to Israel' one. Got a bit derailed but I'm sure it could be dragged back to reasoned discussion.
I wouldn't get too upset by it, they have been fighting since life begun. Its the kids that you feel sorry for!! What chance do they have
Israel's seems to have a policy of shock and awe, trouble is that it doesn't care about civilian deaths, but then again neither do the guys who fire rockets at Israeli houses. One side poke the bear knowing the reaction that will inevitably come. The question is why do they keep poking the bear and why does Israel not eradicate the guys doing the poking? I see it as a clever game of winning sympathy by media on the Palestinian side, and it also demonstrates the reckless nature of operations by the Israeli's, from the Israeli side they have to worry about Isis encroaching on their boarders and have realised that Its better the devil you know so scare the s**t out of Hamas while not really causing the organisation any real problems. The conflict basically wins votes on both sides, stopping it has to be major face saving exercise which always takes an age. Trying to apportion blame against one side of the other is a massive waste of time, but interestingly as Iran and US relations thaw the ISIS issue could yet see Hamas and Israel having common political ground.
This Israeli Palestinian conflict is a blot on humanity , how a resolution what ever it is has not been agreed is a disgrace . Surely there is more to life than this kind of exsistence . My veiw is simplistic yes but surely both sides need to reflect and think about the harm they are causing there People on both sides . As for twitter and footballers ...a joke
Unfortunately, they have been fighting since the days of Christ and if they have nothing new to fight about, they then revert back to a past conflict. It never ceases to amaze me that while we people go to work each day to provide for our families, 'they' go to war. You never see in the tv footage, people going about their everyday activities, never see any building being constructed, never see people at a bar or a restaurant. No, it is always just blood shed. They are born to hate each other and that is where the ongoing problem lies.
