Aye, if anything it seems to me like he did too much. Tried to do Fabregas, Herrera, Fellaini, Ronaldo and others all at once, ended up not getting any of them done in time and probably just put the players off a bit in the end. Would've been better if we'd just worked on one at once, and then walked completely away when it was obvious it wasn't going to happen. I think that's one of the (only) benefits of having a DoF - they know how the game works and so can usually tell you when a deal is a non starter, thus saving the CEO and manager's time and effort. Hopefully this year Woodward has learned from it - it seems like we're being more organised at least, focusing on one or two deals at once and making sure they are either done or we walk away before we start looking at other players.
Yeah, well that's my point. He made some very bold statements and they didn't come off, I would hope he doesn't repeat that. Why say it if there aren't more signings to come? Hummels though, IF it were to happen, would be by far the most important. Another CM is still required but without an uber top drawer centre half we're flimsy as ****.
@skysportstransferwatch 1m Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward seen in LAX departure lounge with Angel Di Maria of Real madrid. Both clubs on tour in the US
Hummels 16m absolute bullshit wouldnt go to man utd for a start if david luiz is 50m and luke shaw 30m, hummels would be closer to 56m than 16m hes the best centre back in the world
Quoted 28M for him Sideshow bob is only worth 10M and why would he not want to go to UTD, the worlds biggest club?
I think he'd surpass those signings as top class centre halfs of his quality are like a rare diamond, with a good 8 years playing at the top left in him.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...s-mats-hummels-deal-rubbished-by-jurgen-klopp Klopp quoted as saying Hummels is going nowhere...... The fact that there is a direct quote kind of makes me believe it. "Both will stay here this season," said Klopp. "There is no tendency they'd want to be elsewhere. Did they also say €20m? When papers mention such numbers you know it's garbage."
Agreed. He'd be our best signing since Vidic imo. And, much like Vidic, the most important for our long term success
Looks like Vidal has ruled out a move to Manchester: (BBC) VIDAL RULES OUT UNITED MOVE It looks very much as though Arturo Vidal's long-rumoured move to Manchester United will not be happening. Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport quotes Vidal as saying: "I do not go to Manchester." Vidal also reportedly said that he was "happy" at Juventus and that he would discuss his future with new coach Massimiliano Allegri. Yesterday, Metro reported that Liverpool are preparing an audacious bid for the Chilean.
Aye, Cannot see that happening either. Think he will stay at Juve this season, and move to someone like PSG or Barca next summer, if I had to take a guess.
