Our next pre season game sees us travel down the coast to Bournemouth. Steven Davis should be back for Saints and there is a chance that Tadic will make his debut if his work permit comes through in time. Bournemouth lost Lewis Grabban to Norwich at the end of last season but but have so far brought in Dan Gosling and Callum Wilson and should be a decent test. We have played the Cherries three times in competitive fixtures over the last 25 years and have taken the spoils every-time. Lets hope the youngsters continue to impress and we come away with a win. COYR!
Bournemouth fans are slating Saints fans on Twitter for selling out our allocation, accusing us of trying to create a rivalry (wasn't it them kicking off at Stmary?). They appear to forget that our fan base is a little than there's, and we can handle over 1000 for a pre-season friendly. As for the match, Hopefully Tadic plays and starts alongside Pelle, with Davis coming in in the midfield. Boruc in Goal and we have slightly stronger looking team
Apparently the police are quite worried about this fixture. All day drinking and a few troublemakers on holiday from around the country combined with over 1000 Saints fans spells potential aggro. Be safe anyone going.
To put friendly attendances into perspective, united had 86500 at their friendly in LA against the Galaxy. Blimey
Over 100,000 tickets sold for their friendly with Real Madrid in USA next month.http://worldsoccertalk.com/2014/04/...nited-game-in-michigan-sell-out-on-first-day/
Apparently home end tickets will be for sale on the night, although they will be "taking measures to prevent away fans from buying tickets" what on earth are these measures likely to be? A pop quiz on the rise, demise and rise of AFC Bournemouth? I thought of going and just saying that I am a neutral?
They might try and block sales to people not on the database. Pompey have before tried to stop people buying tickets who don't live in the area. They struggle enough trying to fill the ground!
