Will it be this way round? Is Targett going to be the no.1 with back up or will we bring in experience and have Targett as back up?

Do you think we will sign that many in this window? Historically we don't go mad in the Jan window, so most would be in this one? With that squad above we would be more than competitive this season.

If we get Kongolo both will be fighting it out, so yeah I can see him being first choice to start if that happens. Kongolo can also play cb so is versatile.

Guan who is hardly or never wrong (I can't remember which) said we want 4 or 5 more. This obviously doesn't stop us signing more if a player comes up we like. But I think 6 players at least( including Tadic and Pelle) will be what we get.
 
Had hoped by now (3rd season in prem) we would be having 2 centre backs AND Fonte vying for the 2 spots; seems the plan remains Fonte and one other.

Generally feeling pretty positive about things though

More will come in Jan. Hooiveld will leave after next season so Turnbull or Stephens will be 4th choice.

Pretty decent but still leaves me with worries about the CB positions as we would've only done a 1 for 1 replacement of lovren and should an injury occur we need to bring in Maya or Jos again.

Italian defender Davide Astori has signed a three-year contract extension with Cagliari. The 27-year-old defender had been linked with Manchester City, Liverpool, Everton, Tottenham and, more recently, Championship club Leeds, who are now owned by Cagliari's former president Massimo Cellino.
