As a sad bastard who loves comics, I very much enjoyed Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Wolf of Wall Street was class too. Not seen 12 Years a Slave or Dallas Buyers Club so couldn't comment.

Though the Lego Movie is the boss.

Am looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy, Sin City 2 and the final Hobbit film across the rest of the year.

Next year, on paper, can be one of the best years in recent memory for movies.

Avengers: Age of Ultron, Mad Max: Fury Road, Jurassic World, Terminator: Genesis, Assassins' Creed, Star Wars VII...

Feels sort-of wrong talking about Oscar-nominated films as 2014 films. But if I was including them, Dallas Buyers Club, Her and 12 Years were all great (Wolf of Wall Street was not).

But otherwise, best films (not ordered):

    Frank
    The Lego Movie
    We Are The Best!
    Grand Budapest Hotel
    Edge of Tomorrow
    The Punk Singer
    Under the Skin

I really enjoyed those three as well (including ASM2, which a lot of people were sniffy about) - but I think (hope) that Guardians of the Galaxy will top them! Can't wait for that next week.

I hope so, based on the trailers (always misleading things those) it looks very good.

They're making an Assassin's Creed movie? That could be ****ing brilliant or ****ing terrible.

I watched Wolf Of Wall Street three nights back and I was disappointed.

It was nearly good, but it was too over the top, which spoilt it for me.

I also watched Life Of Pi the next night, which was okay but not quite as good as I expected(hyped too much).

I also watched Man On Fire this week, which is ten years old, but absolutely brilliant.

I don't normally watch films on holiday, but the house I was staying at had a cinema and a DVD library and you can't get a tan on a night, so I thought I'd do some catching up.

Michael Fassbender is meant to be the lead, so on paper it should be brilliant.

As long as they keep it in a time period rather than constantly going back to the present day like the games...

Unity looks incredible so I have faith with Ubisoft, I assume they're involved with the movie to some degree regarding the plot. I might save up some money so I can buy a next-gen console, I'm really excited for Unity and I'd like to play GTA V and FIFA 15 on next-gen as well.

The best EVER console to movie adaptation is clearly Mortal Kombat. No arguments.

Grand Budapest Hotel was pretty ace.

12 Years a Slave was... so bloody relentlessly worthy and depressing, without ANY let-up. Good, but not a classic.

Ironic of Spacey considering his filmography.

The only thing on TV he has done his entire career is House of Cards. Though that is not a bad show.

If you guys want a good movie to watch on DVD try "Cold Eyes" (2012) which is a remake of the original "Eye in the Sky" (2007).
Korean with subtitles either are well worth the watch.

    Trailer for those interested:

    Eh?

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil? The Usual Suspects? L.A. Confidential? American Beauty? Beyond the Sea?
