Nicked this idea from the Liverpool board, kinda.

Since its f**king quieter than a morgue in here I thought we could give this a go.

State your favourite football player in recent times (ie last 20 years, no pele's or Maradonas) to have never played for Chelsea.

Doesnt necessarily need to be who you thought the best player was, just who was your favourite.

For me its got to be Ryan Giggs, as much a douche bag he turned out to be in his private life, I always loved watching him play in his prime.

The 99 FA Cup semi final goal against Arsenal is one of the stand out moments of his career for me.

Honourable mentions also go to Zidane, Fat Ronaldo, and Edgar Davids.

A goal I will never tire of seeing - not just because it's against Arsenal.

Carlos Tevez. I was absolutely gutted when he left for City as i thought we had a realistic chance of getting him. He's such a work horse but has got so much quality aswell, he could've solved our striker problem for a few years.

Few names spring to mind! Cantona, Henry or Ronaldinho.

Bergkamp (skill and technique), Shearer(what a striker), Henry (talisman and brilliant goal record), Keane(inspirational at times) and Van Nistelrooy (clinical) from the Prem.

The first Ronaldo was the best finisher I ever saw, shame about his knees.

But for me the best player I have ever saw, and I count this past the last 20 years is Zinedine Zidane, majestic on the ball, effecting games all the time, goal scoring ability and a big game player. Would have loved for us to try for him when he quit in 06, way before he should have in my opinion. He had his flaws, but which great players don't. Two huge world cups as well, the second ruined by his infamous headbutt, which to be honest I kind of cheered, never liked Materazzi.

Showing my age here but George Best would have loved it, and been loved at the Bridge, and I think has said as much. More recent Le Tiss, loved watching him play, so too Stan Bowles pity he played for the pikeys. Tony Curry was also good, Hagi or Stoichkov for the foreign choice.

Pavel Nedved (sic?) of Juve fame and earlier still, JP Papin at Milan.

We were linked with him(Nedved) early Roman years but he stayed loyal. Absolute class.

    1. Ray Houghton. We did try to get him when he was with the Villa. 2. Mat Le Tiss, a genius with the ball at his feet and going back a bit further 3. Socrates, my all time favourite player.

With Zinadan in the team we would have won everything. Next best a toss up between Bergkamp and Cruyff.
