Interesting but still cannot get overly excited about the redevelopment at the current site. When I look at Brighton's stadium, I am just so jealous.
The stadium with the poor atmosphere and a mare to get to. Many of the City fans who endured cramped trains with delays wont be going back. Brighton is a great place but the ground is not in it. Nothing to be jealous of.
the live webcam is now live http://www.bristol-sport.co.uk/ the time lapse video is a good watch and shows how much work went into relaying the pitch
Really fascinating! With the amount of stuff that went onto the site anyone would think that the playing surface was about two feet higher than last season!!
The plans shown lead me to believe that one day, assuming there is a level of football that demands greater capacity, there will be a reconstructed, significantly larger capacity Atyeo Stand, replacing the current 4,000 seater. SL will find ways and means to allow this construction - he may already be working toward this end.
It is higher than the previous pitch but by how much? From photos, I would guess that you may be spot on at two feet or in modern money, 66 centimetres.
they'll need to purchase houses behind the atyeo the club may already own some of them if not they should be buying them up would put the icing on the cake if the park end actually went all the way back to the park with the rd closed for match days
Imagine if you had the last house like that old women outside Anfield, how much do you think that one would be worth? Unfortunately that would be taxed as anything over market value is capital gains tax.
our groundsman tweeted a while back that the pitch is 8 inches higher which is a little over 20 cm Craig R @makemcraig · Jul 6 @Davefevs The pitch is about 8 inches higher than the old one but the crown is reduced greatly so hopefully you'll have a better view.
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere a while back that the updated planning laws do not take in to account 'ancient lights' arguments any more? the height of any new stadium would not have to consider houses in close proximity, but other means of protection may apply? Some bright spark on here will know.?
There is some tax, I know because my brother pissed his house up against the wall. So my mum bought it before he lost it (they locked him out with 48 hours to move or pay the mortgage). Anyway when he sorted himself out a few years later he wanted to buy it back, but she could not sell it to him as the price of houses went up in that boom early 2000's and for her to sell it at the price she bought it there would be either she gets taxed heavily on it or he did. Plus when you think of it, if you had rich parents looking at giving their kids early inheritance to prevent death tax, all they need to do is buy the kids house of them at say 4 x market price, but it never happens because the bastards tax you on the gains on property.
