    You need a player that can do it and is proven he can do it

    A Defoe in the team would raise the spirits would it not?

    Shows how good a piece of business Austin was. We bought him when he was 24, in preparation for a division he was proven in. You'd say he's fully repaid his £4mill now, and anything more is just adding value.
    £8/10mill for a guy who's 28 in four days, and scored fewer goals than Austin in far more games last season. Signed for a division he's completely unproven in <doh>
