he deserves to work, just like anyone else.

what, do you want all sex offenders not to work? so they'll be living off the dole (and your money) all their lives, making them more of a burden...

To be fair the only reason TV presenter get sacked for mis-dimeanors is because of ratings ... I doubt Hearts keeping him on the books would affect any of their revenue ...

That's what I'm wondering though, by questioning if there'll be a load of kids there cheering him on. You can surely imagine some parents being displeased with the idea of their kids cheering on or buying merchandise relating to a guy done for what he's been done for.

I'm not really sure what i make of this...He's only 19 after all. Not sure a 19 year old lad showing his knob to a pair of 15 year old birds is really THAT bad. Is it?

    I mean, i wouldn't do it....but y'kna.

I know what you're saying but spin this on us. If say, Danny Guthrie was convicted of sex offences, would you stop buying club mechandise? I know I wouldn't. What people get up to in their private lifes is entirely up to them. I would have a small awkwardness towards the player in question (but only the same as I would if I was told any person was a *****) ... not the club as a whole.

Yeah of course, very good point I'd still buy club merchandise. I'd wonder how well kids size Guthrie shirts would sell though <laugh>.

Agreed but this lad is only 19 and is by no means the reason people show up at Tynecastle... His contribution to the clubs revenue, even before his conviction, would have been very minimal.

Thing is I think any employer has the right to sack somebody for committing a criminal offence whilst they are working for them, even if it doesn't take place whilst they are on the clock. Hearts as a football club are effectively in the entertainment industry and it would be a liability having him on their staff so I wouldn't blame them at all if they sacked him.

If somebody else wants to give him a job then that is up to them. They at least would have the chance to weigh up the situation and decide whether he was a liability to their business. Hearts have the same right.

Personally I don't know enough about the case to judge his actions. But if he did know the girls ages then I would sack him for sure, if it can't be proven that he knew they were under age then maybe keep him on under a probationary contract. Hearts will I am sure get to the bottom of it.
