Sunderland, Hull and QPR in three-way battle to sign Tottenham defender Danny Rose The former England U21's star has been loaned-out to a number of clubs, and with the imminent arrival of Swansea's Ben Davies - it appears that Rose's next move will be permanent. Reports claim that Hull have already tabled a £6m offer for Rose, however Spurs chiefs will await bids from Sunderland and QPR before making a decision. The 24-year-old has spent time with Sunderland, Watford, Peterborough and Bristol City - but did manage to break into Tottenham's first-eleven frequently last season. Rose featured in 22 games for the North London side, netting his only goal in a 1-0 away win to Mark Hughes' Stoke. But if Ben Davies becomes Mauricio Pochettino's first signing of the summer, then Rose will almost certainly find himself down the White Hart Lane pecking order. Harry Redknapp could be tempted to follow-up the signing of Rio Ferdinand with his former pupil. Though Redknapp currently boasts a surplus of defenders in Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Yun Suk-Young, Clint Hill and Armand Traore - none can compete with the quality of Rose. Sunderland are also reported to be interested, however with a £14m bid for Fabio Borini - a bid that could yet be revised, money is likely to be an issue for Gus Poyet. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...-battle-to-sign-Tottenham-defender-Danny-Rose
He's from Leeds isn't he? Think he'd be happy to come here if we want him. Undoubtedly more expensive than Alonso but has devastating pace. On balance I'd prefer him to Alonso but would be happy with either
Damn, I forgot that. I would still prefer Alonso, I just think he's on another level altogether to Rose. Several of my mates are Spurs fans and you should hear them slag him off. They want shot, soon as. I thought he did a good job for us the other year, but having seen Alonso, we got to get this lad on a permanent contract.
Imagine actually having 2 left backs bellonging to us, think i'd have to pinch myself, sunderland dont do left backs
I would prefer Rose, but I think we will go for Alonso if it's cheaper and it gets Diakete off our books
Really really glad we've been linked with Rose. This link will push the Alonso deal through on our terms I reckon.
Very good point that mate! I'm actually desperate for Alonso to sign, I just think he will get better and better.
Me too, He's turned into my top target. Can't see us getting both, not with priorities in other positions.
18 mins · Danny Rose With Ben Davies swapping Swansea for Spurs, the 24-year-old may have had his nose put out of joint by new boss Mauricio Pochettino. Injuries made it difficult for Rose to stamp his claim on the role last season and a poor final ball means Tottenham may well favour blooding Zeki Fryers over keeping Rose. Sunderland, Hull City and QPR are all contemplating offers. Tottenham transfer news: These five players set for Spurs exit? As Mauricio Pochettino gets to grips with life at White Hart Lane we could see a few more stars leaving Tottenham Hotspur. His side are currently on a tour of North America and those who fail to make an impact could well find themselves discarded as the Argentine looks to implement his own style. Ic… talksport.com
Fiorentina defender Marcos Alonso has revealed that he’s currently adapting to his new role in the Gigliati defence since returning to the club from a loan spell with Sunderland. The 23-year-old is most comfortable playing as a left-back, but is now taking on a centre-back role with the Viola and insists that he’s steadily improving in his new position. Alonso spoke to FirenzeViola.it after Fiorentina’s 1-0 friendly Copa EuroAmericana win over Argentine side Estudiantes on Saturday about his progress as a central defender and admitted that he’s still working hard to adjust his playing style. “The centre-back role? I’m finding myself well in this new position,” said the Spaniard. “We have been working hard all week in order to make me continue my improvements in this new role.” The former Real Madrid man spent the second half of the 2013-14 campaign on loan with Sunderland and has been linked with a permanent move to the English side before the end of the summer.
