Exactly, Big Vic and Lovren came from the SPL and Ligue 1, respectively, and they turned out not too shabby. You can't assume that a player won't be any good in The Premiership just because they come from a perceived lower league, that is Barry Sanchez logic!
I personally believe that we will stay up and should really be aiming alot higher than 17th, that said we do need to add more quality and maybe even some average quantity. I am hoping Koeman is going to be good as i want him to be and that Tadic creates 15 goals for Pelle but if all my hopes don't come true then at the end of the day as long as i'm happy with the way the board and the team have performed i won't be moaning whether that means us finishing 20th or 6th. If however the team play crap and Koeman can't seem to get them motivated and the board sell all the players and run off to vegas with the cash without reinvesting in the team i too will be on here moaning my heart out.
Why the abuse? You posted that team up and I was commenting on it as it stood. I realise it is unlikely to be the team so I am not worried.
I haven't been this excited about a new season ever. If we can lose schneirderlin and one or two others over the next couple of weeks we should have a really fresh look.
I am not worried, i believe we will bring in some good additions, i just think that we would be in a relegation battle if we did not!
To be fair, it's pretty exciting in some ways. All our new signings could be amazing and we'll have a super fun, new team to watch, or they could all bust and it'll be a car crash, or somewhere in between. Last season we all knew we'd be somewhere in 8-12, this season nobody really knows, it's pretty good fun.

I'd be absolutely over the moon with 9th, and hugely optimistic about the following season were that to happen.

The problem on here at present is, if someone expresses any doubt about next season what so ever, the overly-positive brigade come out gunning for them immediately. Its bizarre. And the 'meltdown gang', well that was old weeks ago, yet it gets played out on a daily basis.
